Hey guys, my names Chris, live in Sydney, and really keen to get into the sports quad scene, will definatly be joining a NSW club when i get a bike, i need some advice on a good bike to start with, Im trying to keep the budget at 5g and below, i have experience with motorbikes (quads) and many other extreme sports for that matter so im no newbie to speed and jumps etc etc, and having plenty of experience on farm quads should give me a good platform for racing them. so any suggestions on a good starter bike but with a bit of GO? also suggestions on NSW clubs.

Cheers guys!

Firstly wlecome to the site and hope you enjoy it,
Have a look at this. $5000 2006 Polaris Outlaw. Should go pretty good. Wish I had the money to buy it.

Do yourself a favour and buy a 450 !!!!!!! Honda trx450's are going for that price on ebay. Check the buy & sell section on here . Place a post in the wanted section. Trading Post or ebay. Good luck .scotty.

i have been looking around for quads, and have seen quite a few banshee's come up, the 350cc ones, are these good bikes? they look super feral and ready to be thrashed but yer, looks can be deceiving, i mean what wins a 350 raptor or a 350 banshee? which one of the two can take the bigger beating

tom if u know your bikes like u say u should know that the banshee (350 2stroke) is going 2 flog the a*se off a (350 4 stroke) raptor/warrior. Go buy yourself a 450+cc 4 stroke, great solid bikes & engines (in most cases) or go stradle a banshee which will probably c u soiling your pants , ull just have 2 tend 2 them more often (eg rebuilds etc) Wink

If your looking at getting into racing, you'll quickly realize that a 450cc 4 stroke is the bike to have. You should be able to pick up an earlier model 450 (04 or 05) for fairly cheap and it'll perform much better on the track.

Banshee's do have a cult following , from back in the day, not exactly the racers choice today though (to frisky lethal) , you should have no trouble finding a Yam/ honda/ 450 for that price , look for widened machines.
