Ive Asked Jamie Barkla to contact his posse in the bush to get numbers.
We need at least 6 fool hardy bushies to commit before we agree to race a couple of the rounds out west. come on guys get involved! Details of the series will be discussed and voted upon at our meeting this thursday night. all qqra members are asked to attend.

| It's a bit tricky to say how many will commit to doing all six rounds, the trouble is they are spread all over the paddock, I know Gilbert will be keen and I will have a dig, although if you can make it happen I reckon they will come outta the scrub from every direction . |

May be speaking out of place here, but weve just looked at this exercise of doing a round "Quads only" but wasnt financially viable. Our state rounds are run in the states MX series, we have Pro/inters and Clubmans classes.
We will be running a quad only championship for all other classes in July which we hope attracts over 100 riders. the Pro/inters and clubmans will need to come to get their series points and the women will take their place at one round in the state series for their championships, along with solo women.
Is it desirable to try and be included with your states state round series? 1 class to start with? be included with the solo classes? I know it wont cover all classes to start with, but you have to walk before you can run. _________________ www.waquadmx.com |

yeah this has been going for a few years now, its called the honda thunderx. unfortunately the tracks are natural terrain and the quads generally dont like the massive ruts etc. since 05 we have of course had our own championship race which has replaced the thunderx as the quad mx championship.
We've also in the past run our own club series for a few years now, (2006 series was not run) but its now time to nut up.
We have been given an opportunity with a track here in brisbane but we want to include the boys out west. If we do not get a verbal commitment with names and numbers of the bushies then we will stick with running the series in brisbane. We really want to expand and include west qld but we need a show of hands. (i am asking the same of the brisbane guys)
email me your name and details etc and ill include you on our list of "potential riders" for next years series. Im not asking for your first born, just verbal commitment to have a go.

hey postie, we will be voting on thursday night to have one of our proposals accepted by the quad club members. once this is done you need to email me your details and ill add you to our list of riders who will be competing. I need everyone to do this including gilbert if he wants to ride in our series. (the club will not accept a , "yeah hes coming")
Because our club needs to make a commitment to the tracks, the quad club also needs a commitment from the riders. without numbers it wont happen, also if we make promises and turn up with 2 quads we will look like idiots. (we already look like idiots!) we only need 20 riders so it shouldnt be hard, plus were having a junior class as well.
give me a call if you want to discuss

C,mon fourtrax it's not that bad , you got it to easy at reedy that must be the smoothest track in the country top track by the way.
I like mrs G's input, wa lead's the way , running with the qld mx champs would be the best exposure for quad's in Qld I would have thought , but i don't know if they want to include quad's in there program I'm just a hick in the stix wanting a state quad mx series " If you build it they will come" |

The Vibe I'm getting from associated riders is that we need to get more riders along to Thundercross, sure the tracks are rough but it's the same for everyone on the day and at least they're is a bit of variety to where we ride, unfortunately doing a series at only two tracks doesn't seem to tickle anyones fancy, not to mention alot of the guys out west want to compete in the thundercross but travelling an extensive amount twice in 2 months will almost certainly not happen.
My opinion is that the Thundercross is they're for us to compete in and we should make the effort to attend, and not look like idiots when only 5-6 riders turn up! And it is also a state championship series which attracts the likes of myself and gilbert. _________________ Yes i am a farmer, and NO that doesn't make me stupid, just MAD! It seems the states that can run more than one class have the best growth, thunder x with a pro class and a b class might be a winner, what do you think?
As for the tracks being rough, thats why the WA guys dominated so much. |

I think incorporating a b class would be a top idea and very doable. We need separate classes to entice others to give it a go and not get scared away at they're first race.
Would any of you northern guys be interested in competing at Thunder X, the more the merier. _________________ Yes i am a farmer, and NO that doesn't make me stupid, just MAD! KTM 505sx, the chicken splitter |

I understand what you guys are saying, but i am looking at the bigger picture. We need juniors.
I cant see the thundercross adding juniors can you? Juniors are the only way our sport will grow. (W.Aand vic will tell you this) Also, If we have a non threatening practice day at tivoli for quads only, i can get between 10-20 guys who you have never seen before who dont like the hard and fast racing that you and i love. The idea of tivoli is to provide a nice track that is easy to ride, fully groomed and will have junior classes. Thundercross does not provide this.
Also, ive herd thundercross has lost honda and that numbers have been dropping over the past couple of years? We cant always count on others to help quads, we need to help ourselves.
By doing our proposed series, we can build numbers and maybe in 08 we can have a standalone quads only series. But we need to stick together.
We can do this and "have a go" at pushing the juniors, or we can go to the thundercross and moan about how bad the tracks are again? ITS UP TO YOU GUYS i am only the secretary of the club. Members can vote.
JB, by the sounds of it the bushies dont want to do this? if so email me asap. Its a shame, would have been good to add a couple of rounds out west.... |

| Definately some rounds JB, the most northern ones mabe Harvey Bay, Kingaroy - Rocky if they put it back in, its a bit too much to do the whole series though. |

Its got to start some where. If it starts at 2 tracks, 3 races at each and the quads attract crowds and people like us, the clubs will like us and hopefully the quad numbers will grow aswell. Then in the years following the series can grow and improve. _________________ Mic

hi to all
from the outside looking in (i have some questions)
#1 what is thundercross?
#2what size quads do they ride in the juniors class
#3when is the intro day at tivoli
#4do you have a class for the older unfit guys/girls that only ride/race for fun
the reason i ask is we went to the QLD cup and there is no way any of us could mix it up like those guys
if we could race for fun -- you could count my self my wife and my son in
i visit the quadrama web site all the time and would love to see all the classes in detail including the regs - also more info about what type of racing is available to new riders
i would like to give it/racing a go but would feel like a (sausage) if i was overtaken on the first lap (intro days would be good to get new people started) and maybe some of you (pro) riders could leave your bikes on the ute and show some new guys some tips i think more people would get behind you
what does it cost to hire out a track like tivoli for a day? i for one would tip in the cash for first class advice
even if you allow the ever growing import quad riders to attend i think they would end up investing in a race able quad and your numbers would rise
thanks daniel ( a qld quad riding family willing to travel ) |

I can only speak for myself , but I am hell keen to have east and west mx series and the Roma mx club would willingly host as many round's as necesary, i agree junior's are the future of the sport and like mic said we gotta start somewhere, if it piggyback's of club day's it shouldn't clash with thunda x [rox by the way] and personally i would like to do both the natural terrain series and the motox series , i would be struggling to get a podium in either but if it help's the sport grow I'm in .
Ideally I would like to see 6 different mx trax spread across as much of the state as possible but that's just my two bob and i have limited organizational skill's
ps I think N.E Qld has got the number's we require to support the series to be successful , just trying to think in a triangle . |

hi daniel,
thanks for your input mate. weve been racing for a number of years but have never had juniors. we will have a 90cc class age 9-13 years to start with and we will grow from there. as for the adults, we will only have one grid to start with. what this means is we can have 2 classes, eg, pro and clubman but they will start on the same line. we can have a max of about 20 quads. once it grows so will the classes. If the vote is passed on thursday night, we will have quad only practice days as well, and this will be awesome as we can break it up into novice, clubman, womens, and so on. You dont have to worry about being out of place, were all here to have fun and grow the sport, this should be our main priority.
ill keep you guys informed after our meeting on thursday.
by the way all are welcome to the meeting.

Hello Jaden,
I would be keen to race next year. And yes I was keen to race the QLD cup but quad was still in pieces so I spectated instead. As you know I live in Gladstone but would be commited to driving to Brisbane to race and can I suggest that if possible practice and race days were held on a Saturday. That would enable people to travel Friday afternoon/night ride on Saturday and travel home on Sunday. However this is only my opinion.
If you were to have a clubman class maybe there could be some limits on what mods have been done. I can feel for people who would like to race but are intimidated by the pro style quads and feel they need to spend mega money to be competitive.
Cheers for now |

hey chris,
i hear ya, we have an option to race on saturday but it wont happen in 07,maybe 08. there are reasons for this but i wont go into it.
we can run 2 classes to start, A and B. So youll be in B grade and race against other clubman style riders.
ill keep you informed.

Jaden,
I am pretty sure you will have this covered but any practice days and race days should be posted on this forum.
I will also work on bringing some riff raff from up this way down to practice days.
When is the next Blackduck weekend?
Cheers
