Just got back from easter riding and got another 3 punctures. The standard tyres on my raptor 700 09 model arent much chop. I mainly ride woods riding with the occasional grass track and sand dunes. I am looking for a tyres that will accomodate my riding. I have heaqrd by going to a 6 ply tyre that they dont handle as good as the factory tyres. Any help would be much appreciated.

check out the tyre's JMC offers, $90 or so each. Excellent grip, 6 ply, not real good on the beach but good in bush.

I don't have the experance of Cowchaser with only 7 posts, but just to put in my 2 cents worth in I would have to agree with the MAXXIS RAZZER II's. I've used the Kenda's without a punchure but I wasn't happy with the tyre life when fitted on a 700 rap. The MAXXIS come with a much deeper tread and seem to last alot longer but they also come with a bigger price tag.
PS. I don't race m/cross I just blast through bush tracks and fire trails. Cool

Wow.......I've also used MAXXIS & Kenda Klaws and I liked both but found the Klaws last forever.

The RAZR-II is a great tyre but I do like how you can turn the Klaws around and use them in the sand.

another option is to go for some iRazr radials, I had a set that did stacks of trail riding + finke 3 times, they are a little pricey but will last a fair while.

Maxxis Razr are way better than Kenda Klaw , last longe , better sidewall ....been using them for years and never had a puncture. I put them on all my bikes from new.
Also used them in the sand and have found they float over the sand as apposed to dig a hole like some paddles do. Slide heaps better and generally good all round .

I got caught up with a group of riders on a very wet clay trail ride one day and my bike with razr tyres was the only bike able to climb out of the valley. All the rest got helicoptored out the next day.
From that day on - i trust nothing else !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (even made the news ) LOL

ITP Tyres make a big range of tyres that you'll be sure to find one that works best for your situation.

So with the kenda Claws u can turn them round for using in soft surfaces. Would they be good for a grass track race.

Yep you just change your left wheel to your right and vice versa and it a diffrent pattern. I have used Klaws in grass tracks plenty of times they are great. The MXR Klaws would be better for racing but these are too small and soft for bush riding

Im runnin kenda knarlys on the 450 and i have alot of crushed concrete tracks in my back yard with steel reo scrap structual steel hanging out in most places and they have never had a puncture yet an i give it heaps of gas over the steel , enough to rip the reo out the driveway and throw it on the side so i can pick it up later.

I contacted hardiman and Austraco and there prices were way too dear. Like $120 more than i could get them locally for. Thats not even with freight on top. Got some fronts kenda Claw for $110 each and rears $115 each.

Where bouts did you get them from? I've brought tires from andrew at austraco before and his prices with freight included by far beat what i could get them for up here
