Awesome

Colin (Mr Extreme), that should have been written weeks ago.

If this is true, I believe Can-Am have gone above and beyond what was required.

Thanks.

Hi noodles you forgot to point out the other ones with gear on, the one without helmets was when he at 15yrs was asked to put it on the trailer and took it apon himself to take the long way , I think he will never do that again and the kids are also sitting on a parked bike so dont need to get personal as you dont know the facts OK. Also there seems to be a few inconsistansies from when the bike left here to arriving at Atherton and will talk to Coll about that. This is not about getting a new bike as Colin will verify that ,as I was offered a new one back in nov and told him I would rather try and get this one sorted ,at considerable cost to me. The whole thing here is about the treatment I have received from Can Am and my local dealer not Colin as he was not a Can Am dealer then. Why else would they now be warranting parts and covering costs of freight. All this would not have happened if the dealer and Can Am had done there job at the start. Belts, radiator, springs, winch all caused from a factory fault and should have been fixed while still under warranty as they knew about this then. Now they are trying to make out they are the good guys here.I ask any of you ,if you had had this happen what would you do, as this bike started giving trouble at 3 months of age and is now only having the work done. It has been down since Aug last year due to the radiator which Can Am knew about(as I was later told by them) from new and nobody contacted me about , they where also the first to offer a replacement bike, I did not ask for or demand one OK.27"Tyres are brand new and had originals at time so they are not the cause of diff. I feel for Colin here as like he said he had been told by Gary previously about the bike giving trouble before even meeting me and now he is caught in the mess. I must stress that Colin at Extreme has not in any way been at fault here ,this is all Can Am and my local dealer and I am sure if Colin was the dealer at the time any issues would have been sorted. Sounds like I might be able to get a ride in before the rain stops. Thats the facts so if some of you still think that I am at fault here all I can say is I am sure you would have had enough as well after trying for near 2 years to get warranty work no matter what make of bike it was.

Just some general info which I have seen on this model.

Until 18 months ago the cvt box was was just a strainer . Can am made a new backing plate and solved all the problems . there fore any thing to do with belts clutches in that are is warrenty . The Can am dealer will do this mod for free you just need to ask . Most people I know hunt so this gets fixed prettty quick.

The diffs on these quads seem to fall out regular . My opinion the problem is water. Oils anin't oils . the donkey (sausage) on the diffs leak and if your serious about water riding these need to check after every ride. or just don't ride in the rain.

The exhaust melt the fuel tank enough said.

Can't do much about the frame except RHS up the frame. If your un lucky these bend backing it off the trailer.

rear swing arm nuts need to be checked every ride. if one comes loose it feels like to got a flat tyre. the mounts crack out of the frame.

Classic on this quad is the air filter falling off . Dusted motor

I like riding this quad its got fun factor 11 out 10 comfy plus

OK the Can am super dealer concept is the future. Just think the dealer main business is boats quads are just off the shelf.

I'm not having a pick just these problems do exist as do Polaris and Ktms

I would have taken the replacement if it was minimal cost.

I would have contacted fair trading before the warranty expired.

Hopefully with the help of Colin this can be fixed.

Yes I know I could have done things differently back then but that is what you get for trusting people i spose as I thought that by at least contacting Can Am I would have had it fixed and there was only the one dealer. The reason I did not want a new bike was that this one has not a lot of hours on it and I couldn't justify the extra( replacement was also mentioned) to get something I already had ,as I am not a racer but someone that just chases a few pigs with the odd joy ride in the wet although the issues with the diff has been the last straw. This is the first time from any manufacturer I have ever been treated this way so had no idea what to do.I have purchased Quintrex, Yamaha x 2, KTM, Toyota x 4, Holden, Vermeer, Atomic x2 and whole host of other and have never had any issues with warranty or parts from any except Can Am. Still hoping to be back riding soon?

Thanks to all who have been working on a solution to the issue for FatTractor.

I won't post the original post back here now, as the thread has really ended up with the two issues covered again over the past few months.
- The issues with the Can-Am quad have been discussed in detail.
- The issues and opinions on the moderation of the original post have been taken on board, and in future threads will not be moderated this way again.

Hi just to let you know, still no quad and cant even seem to find out where mine is ,as I had had enough with Can Am and told them 3 weeks ago to send mine back. Was told that it will be on transport. Evil or Very Mad Rang shipping today to get a time on picking it up and they have no listing of the bike being shipped. Way to go Can Am the BS just never ends.

There is a host of mods we have to do to make you quad mud friendly. PM me your email to me and we will work it out. By the way your not the first. there is plenty of others just like you. Believe me or not Can am in America are a very proud bunch of blokes who take it personally if somebody has a problem.

Just an update on fat tractors bike for those who are interested, the bike has been repaired and prep'd for sale. The customer has advised us that he declined on the offer to purchase a heavily discounted 2009 model Can-am with 3 years warranty to keep his original bike (which seems practical in the current economic conditions). Authorisation was required from Can-am to approve the bike being shipped (via barge) directly to fat tractor as the flooding in the Far North Queensland have washed away the roads. (Although a Can-am could get through!).

Can-am was quite happy to approve the bike being shipped to ensure fat tractor received his bike asap. Even though the price difference was quite substantial between road and sea. Once again they have gone above and beyond the call of duty and paid the freight via barge.

I delivered the bike personally to the freight depot in cairns and they ensured that the bike would be delivered by friday. I have received confirmation that the bike was in the Weipa depot this afternoon. Which means that Fat Tractor is out riding as I type this.

Hopefully the next posting from Fat Tractor will be how satisfied he is with his Outlander 800XT MAX!

All the best from Team Extreme!

I have helped more Can am riders than you're had hot breakfasts. just do to help people . Most people come to me for help after they get screwed. Trouble is getting paid in cartons when I don't drink smoke or take drugs. thems the breaks I suppose.
