 |
|
Hey all. I'm gonna have a look at an LTZ400 for sale in the local rag. it has a fair few mods including 440 kit, CDI and head work.
Is that gonna create more hassles than it's worth?
Thanks. _________________ Cheers,

The Z400 donk is a pretty reliable unit. As long as it has been put together right I don't forsee any issue's. Good thing is there is alot of parts available for it, new or secondhand.

ive had a couple now, been great engines with heaps of low down torque, had gearbox trouble with 1 of them but i think half of that was my fault, didnt like flat changing through the gears.... |

I've probably already talked myself out of it! hahahaha
I don't want a bike I'm always throwing money at and taking to the workshop for engine rebuilds!
Common sense tells me to stick to something close to stock. I don't race, I'm a social rider....dunes, some enduro type riding.......
Back to the DS650 topic again! If they had reverse I wouldn't hesitate. There be three of em for sale in Perth this week.....
One guy is asking $11,000 (2006) 18 hours, mint cond.
One needs gearbox repairs and new rear tyres $5,000 (2004), has done fink and a few other races.
One is really old $5,500 (2001) and lots of hours. Owner claims it's not been raced but looking at it I think he's fibbing!
Second hand Raptor 700's are around 8 to 10 grand with little to no mods but they are so narrow and tippy. I'd be up for $$$$ to get some decent width. It's one thing that pi55es me off about the rappy 700....why are they so tall and narrow?
Oh woe is me! _________________ Cheers,

In the buy & sell section a bloke named "streety" is selling his rap 700, its been widened & has some trick stuff on it. hes a mate of mine & looks after his gear, if i was looking 2 update (which im not) id b looking at his bike...iv ridden with that raptor b4, seen it in action & as your so concerned about the width thats bikes already had it done _________________ 04 TRX 450r

I dont know about the 700's be tippy, you havent ridden a kfx then... (not a word BigJB, I still have the photo) But the old 660 were tippy as, and they fixed that up with the 700's. I hate saying this but they go hard, I rode fossils once, very nice bike to ride, dont discount them just yet, see if you can ride one. just my two bobs worth. _________________ 2005 KFX700
