All my apparel has just turned up today, I got the Shift apparel pack from bikebiz. I got the v3 helmet awesome fitting & looks great. Pants & shirt are good as well.
The boots are AXO BOXER & a fit great as well, but that is where it stops, I never had motorbike boots before so i don't know what to expect, tring to change gears is fairly difficuilt. If i leave my boot under the gear lever, "as i used to when i had the old sand shoes on" it sometimes doesn't return far enough to change to the next gear, i find i have to have my foot pointed down ( full pivot) to change through the gears without a problem. This is very uncomfortable.
Is this normal??? or do i need to get a gear lever with more clearance for the boot.
I am really stumped with this as when i went for a ride today with these boots on i couldn't enjoy the ride, for one always adjusting my position & foot to change gears, so couldn't really get into it.

Here's another thing, the seat was lookig a little dull so i gave a quick wipe with Armor oil ( yes i can hear ya laughing) yes it is very slippery now, so off to try to find something it give it grip again. Wife say's I told ya so!! Bugger to many Beers!!!
Don't ya hate that.

I hope there is an easy fix for this boot prob as i am stuck with the now. eek

Gary

LOL laughing laughing laughing

I think almost everyone that was new to bikes or quads would have hade the same problem. Wash your seat with degreaser and then soap, it should fix it. As for the boots... you need to get new ones laughing .

only joking, there should be a bolt on your gear leaver undo it then slip it off and adjust it up to your preferred height, happy ridding
laughing

ye adjuste lever and just give it time , it will feel weird at first with boots compaired to shoes . It took me a while to get comfortable with them. Just need to ride till it feels right

I find I have the same problem , I adjusted my lever up and it helped but I have to use the side of my boot to change gears ,if I try and use the toe area my heal is jammed tightly against the heel guards . It sucks

Thanks everyone for ya replies, i moved the gear level one spline & that one spline moved the lever I'd say three quarter of an inch,( give or take) yep whacked the boots on & it's all good, hope all fixes are this easy in the future laughing . While i had the gear lever off i removed the platform behine the heal ( sorry i don't know it proper name) & gave it a spray paint ( Hammer Tone silver), like wise for the other side.

I dropped into the bike shop today & they had my B&B sprocket & disk break bashplate their for me "Yippy" Been waiting for a while to come in. While i was their i was chating about "air filter oil" I clean my filter for the first time on Sunday & Holly crap it was full of sand (prevoius owner only rode it on the dunes in Newcastle) so after a clean i used the last of my unifilter oil that i use on my 4x4, the bike shop recondmended "Rock oil" Foam air filter Synthetic, it's good stuff & easy to use ( hope they are right cause it's very expensive)

I gave the seat a good scrub with dish washing liquid & all's good there now back too normal.

Now next on the agender is tring to decide what pipes to use, the bike is for wifey & I, Wifey is thinking of buying a two wheeler to ride with the boys.
Maybe i should tweak it for me to enjoy laughing Evil or Very Mad

My next topic is about fuel mix, my search on this forum wasn't all that clear on what ratio to use & for the reason. Should we have a poll with a description of each ratio & their uses & RPM Ranges for each max protection, what's your thought???

Cheers Gary

Rock oil is one of the best oils out there. I ran rock oil filter oil and rock oil synthesis 4 during safari with no problems. Worth every cent.

My mate uses 40:1 . . . his engine is due for rebuild and he uses any oil that is available . . . I`d find the best all round pipes but maybe something with a little more oomph down low as well.

I"m not really up with the 2 stroke fuel mix thing yet, but i feel that it's very important like "good oil in a 4 stroke engine" for protection & help keep things cool & so on.

The guy i bought the Banshee from has always mixed 33:1 20Ltrs/600Mls, the bike shop told me i should run 40:1 20Ltrs/500Mls cause you can get 2 mixes from the 1Ltr of Motul with maximum protection still.

I am ready to mix new batch when i decide to head out next ( hopefully in the next week laughing ), should i stick to 33:1 as always ran from rebuild or go the 40:1 for the savings???? Really it isn't a money thing to me, i just need to know that i got things right & not doing the over kill for no reason.

Can anyone inform as what to do
Thanks Gary

I have always mixed 600ml to 20 liters. Hrm

I will try and leave it the same so the bike does not get a shock. But i have heard people using diff mixes and this subject is a never ending story. However you feel the bike runs better.

Thanks for ya replies, yep i think i'll stick with the original mix 33:1 for now.
I have been enquiring about pipes, Paul Turner pipes fat boy 2, Toomey T5, FMF's Fatty Pipes. At the moment these are fairly close to $1400 are these good pipes for the price, not really wanting spend that much money at the moment or is it worth the out lay????. I have spent a fair bit of money so far, so tring to justify the extra expense of pipes to the missus so some ripper of excuse's would be handy if ya have any up ya sleaves laughing "Bloody money who needs it" laughing

Cheers Gary

the best ripper excuse is to somehow accidentally break one of the pipes and tell her the guy at the shop said OEM pipes aren't worth buying laughing

pipes will make a huge difference to your bike, but after you removed the heal guard you may want to get some nerf bars for the protction depending where you ride.

also with the pipes try looking for a secondhand set, a good second hand set can be found on bansheehq for around $600-700 posed to aus, might need a little polish or respray but a bargain can be had. postage will be around 70-110us dollars

Thanks doorslammer, I have PM'd both the sale items, How did you find out the total price for each?? & does their forum provide a paypal link to pay for the items, I'm not sure how this all works & the risk factor of paying & not receiveing the items. Evil or Very Mad

Sounds like a good deal laughing

you PM the person on the site and ask if they will ship to australia and for how much, then when you've got a total price and they are happy to ship overseas with insured post you ask for their paypal address.

you pay em and ask for a dispatch note (like a tracking number you can put in www.usps.com) to see where it is and when they sent it off.
allways use paypal, you dont have to but you can file a complaint and get your money back if you've found out its a scam.

basically its a private sale

also i just estimated the price, i added their price to $110us dollars (just a guess of postage, last set of pipes i bought cost $78usd in postage) then coverted the us amount to aud.

you will also need to get a set of jets, ive got a dynojet kit for a banshee with pipes you can have for shipping, as im using kehien carbs now.

good luck
