SELL IT !!! if you are chasing more power the bike is too small for you !!! go and get a 450 if you can afford a 2007 250 honda you can afford a 05 450 yamaha etc then you wont have a lack of power issue for a while !

Check the web for big bore kits.
There are 2 that I can remember, but not where from.
the TRX250EX is only 229cc and the simplest big bore kit makes them true 250cc and increases compression.
That might be the best place to start, and you could have the head cleaned up while you are there.

Todd had the right idea buy a ktm motor slot it into a Honda fame
even easier use a 250r two banger more power than the bike will ever need Pete Willem's also has one with a 310 kit the hustler in Adelaide has a few one in particular has a 350 pv motor thats real quick
laughing laughing
AL smart comments aside the more you try to pull out of that bike the more its going to cost with little return look at up grading most sports quads now er days have heaps of good usable power pending what you are looking for
all the best

Do you want to race it or are you a social rider? Either way my suggestion is go talk to Legend Quad in Jandakot. (look in the phone book)

All those who suggest you pull the engine out and put something else in do not have your best interests at heart. If it was that easy why aren't they doing it?

Forums like this one bring out some of the "lower common denominator". In other words it's easy for some drop kick to sit behind a key board and try to talk the talk, but at least half the time they are just stroking themselves.

Bullit makes a lot of sense, but nothing is cheap, unless your dad is a mechanic!

wtf????

your a goose.
i told him the cheapest way of making decent power reliably.
as far as im concerned the atv world has been getting screwed for years with low powered pieces of junk.
there is not one single manufacturer that produces anything to rave about.
for example
why do yamaha make a R6 600cc with 130hp and a 700cc raptor with 50 hp?
how can they justify that?
the technology has been there for years yet they keep giving us crap.
any you guys keep paying top dollar for the privilage to ride there most powerful quad ever.... ktm 505 has been raved about recently, but does it have 100hp? unfortunately its more underpowered junk as usual.

when manufactures decide to produce a quad with over 100 hp
i will be the first to buy one, but until then i will continue modifing quads to a standard that i think they should all perform to.

haha, i think your missing the point of quads mate.

not everyone has miles and miles of dirt road to do high speed wheelies on, nor wants to...

i dont think a 600cc 4 cylinder would go as well on the trails as a 700cc single, which is what the raptor is meant for...

also i think you will find that a lightweight single cylinder ktm will flog your yfz-10r or whatever it is you call it on a moto-x track!

its horses for courses mate, you sound like you would be more at home racing drag cars or something!

now back to the topic at hand...

strikz_05, you sound like a very young bloke just getting into quads. save up some cash and put a pipe and filter on your quad, itll sound alot better and go better too. anything beyond that i would save my money for when the time comes to upgrade to a 450... how old are ya anyway?

mark.

im not missing the point at all.
130 hp out of a 4 cyylnder 600 has been proven for years in the rd bike industry. as beeing reliable and fuel efficient.

have you picked up a r6 engine and a raptor engine?
and im not talking about using a r6 engine in a race quad for mx or enduro etc. im purely saying the technology is there so why do they give us this old slow reving garbage.
who can remember how many years ago a single cyn 4 stroke was fazed out of road racing bikes?
i cant think of the last one that was produced.
the reason being,

a r6's engine design has stock
150cc and 32.5 hp per cylnder
and it does 17,000 rpm.

compare it to a 700cc raptor that makes 45 hp from 700cc and does 10,000rpm.

wheres the logic?

hey mate, maybe start your own thread if you want to launch a vandetta against the manufacturers for producing crap quads, leave this one to strikz_05 to find out more about his Honda.

Hey Strikz, give us some info. Like how old/big are you, what kind of riding you do & what do your mates ride, then maybe you might get some useful suggestions.
cheers.......
