 |
|
As most of you already know we have been working closely with National Parks and the Worimi for the last 18 months to try and resolve issues that have come up with the RVA on Stockton.
Things have been progressing smoothly up untill an incident on Saturday the 28th Febuary.
Here is an e-mail I received from National Parks yesterday.
"Thanks to the idiot who decided to ruin 18 months of positive, work with the National Parks resolving issues with the RVA.
A quad bike on Saturday rode at and collided with a NPWS Ranger. The guy was riding a white quad and wearing a white jersey and white pants. He was with a guy on a blue quad and riding outside the RVA along the 4WD access track. The quads were summoned to stop and turn around by a NPWS Ranger. The rider decided to ride at the Ranger hitting him as he fled.
Within hours of the incident, Police were reported on the Bight. Well Done
If you get a fine for riding in the wrong area or not displaying your number plate or rego blame this idiot. To date NPWS have been in an educational phase, but we can be assured this will change. Being harassed for rego is nothing compared to $360.00 fine."
On Sunday the same ranger spotted this guy going over Pagies and into the basin. The National Parks tried to block all exits to catch him. He slipped through somehow.
One of the rangers was taking regos of bikes that came out of the basin, but tossed them away at the end of the day because "none of those blokes were involved"
If anyone knows who this (sausage) is, please let me know. He has destroyed most of the work we have been doing and as a result everyone is going to suffer.
National Parks and also the Waratah Police are after him as well. _________________ If it's not upside down, you're not trying hard enough!

It will be because of peaple like that fool we will lose something as wonderful as Stockton. It brings to mind the last page in issue #18 of ATV ACTION.
Well said COTTO! Without Stockton i would have nowhere at all to ride. NOWHERE!!!
Riding my trike on the dunes is about the only thing i look forward to and if thats taken away from me because of losers like this i'll be out for blood. _________________

all the good work hey i havnt got 1 email call or letter from npws or worrimi but been on the plan of management for 6months. Maybe the people who been working with them are a select few & not realy pushing for anything to change just saying they are. They could have left the car park & tracks how they were & moved the northern boundry to tin city & that 1 gesture would have made every RVA user kiss there feet, just my thoughts.
Anyway i hope this WOOD DUCK gets whats coming to him, jail time or a head on with a tree. |

The plan of management your on would be a data base of interested stakeholders that will be contacted when the plan of management process commences. When the process starts you'll get your email, call or letter I would imagine _________________ niftynev |

Hey bno12a - Pull your head in. Unless you know what is really going on in the back ground you would be wise to keep comments like that to yourself. A lot of what is going on is dictated by comments and ideas that are posted on this forum. Posts like that don't help.
Lets just see if we can find this coc@head. He really has put a hole in the negotiations. _________________ If it's not upside down, you're not trying hard enough!

They probly will contact all the stake holders when somthing is has changed but its been nearly 9months & nothing, dose that mean nothings been done or changed in 9 months.
Hey losty when people who wont to get involved, who have good ideas & been using the beach for 25years get ignored & carnt it looks like npws & worrimi arnt interested.
So whats going on in the back ground since you are the only 1 who seems to know, inform us.
Better he hit a tree than the rangers again dont you think. |

I think the tree idea is a great one, but a baseball bat also comes to mind.
There are quite a few people involved in the background that have all put a lot of time and effort into getting things changed on Stockton. 1 of the changes you mention was being discussed on the Saturday morning with the Worimi and was looking real good untill Saturday afternoons incident.
You don't want to know the Worimis first response to the incident.
I would like to keep you all informed as things are put forward, but am not allowed to. The reason you have not got an e-mail in 9 months is because nothing has changed in that time. A lot has been put forward, but it takes time to present proposed changes with studies and good information to back them up.
The Worimi has to approve any submission before it goes any further.
Just note that all of your ideas that you all put on this forum are discussed. The more good input the better the result will be.
On the other hand, 1 bad comment puts things back about 3 months. _________________ If it's not upside down, you're not trying hard enough!

Pretty simple - Open up a bigger riding area & install better amenities.

That's very childish of them. I don't blame people from West Dubbo when my car got stolen and the thief was from West Dubbo. Can't blame all quad riders cause some idiot decides to not obey the rules. _________________ Don't close your eyes during the crash, you'll miss the best part |

i will buy new gear and put my money back into the local economy when THEY pull their heads in and make it equal for ALL of us. 4wd ers, bike riders ect... ALL PEOPLE.. no matter your colour of skin or what you ride or drive..
just because i dont ride at the moment doesnt mean i dont care what happens up there . I would love to see it run the way it used to in its former glory days.. ..
Hey NPWS i hope you have considered the MORE rider friendly = more people= LOTS MORE MONEY which in equal , everybody WINS !!!
as for the F N PRICK who run down an officer.. if yu are reading this.. YOU ARE A FOOL and will get whats coming to you. !! time and loose lips will sink your ship you idiot !!!
i will also keep an eye out for you !!!
i also hope the ranger is ok.. hes only DOING HIS JOB.. HE DIDNT MAKE THE RULES !!!
MUZZA.. LOVE ME OR HATE ME.. I DONT CARE !!.. my opinion. _________________ its all good. its just a bit dirty !!! |

I in no way think this was the right thing to do but even if you find out who it was there is nothing you can do, how can you prove it? white quad...thousands sold, white riding gear...same.
He should have been caught on the day, he has left the scene of the crime and NP have nothing on him but memories.
If they were serious they would set it up like the snow, where you buy a permit at a check station and they record your rego for the day. Then and only then will they be able to prove someone was even there on the day. Plus with the extra cash they could put some bloody toilets, shade, fresh water tap or trailer securing facility's up there.
I can understand why people don't get rego, what the hell does our money go too? surely that bumpy as fu$k Lavis lane wouldn't cost much to maintain a year!
sorry for going off topic, just don't know what you expect to achieve by finding this guy. _________________ 08 Raptor 700SE
