Ceramic coating is a much better option and does a better job. Lots of places that do it now. Try competition coating I know they have very high quality they've done some stuff for me before and I was impressed

I`m pretty sure I read somewhere(magazine) that the tape keeps the heat from escaping and I`m pretty sure we want to let the heat escape as soon as possible......if you tape the header the head and the rest of the exhaust will be hotter..

I think.... there was a reason that I didn`t tape my falcons crossflow.

And on a different note I hear about exhust wraps catching fire on underground vehicles a fair bit....different environment though.

www.competitioncoatings.com

Based in sydney but there are a few around Australia. Steve Knott is the man when it comes to this stuff. The website should explain most of what you want to know

My mate wrapped the header on his Grizzly. After a couple years the header rusted through.

yeah thats why they wrap header pipes because the hot gasses are hiting the cooler header and hot always wants to get away from cold thats wen scavaging happens the head or the muffler dont run hotter

Okay..... that probably explains why I lose power and get rough power when I take me XL(yeah . . I know) through water at higher than reasonable speeds...water hitting the header.... Is that right?
