From Mick's perspective......
Set the mood:
Friday night, 30 digrees, under lights, more quads than two wheelers and sidecars put together (you gotta love that), great bunch of guy's, a very social atmosphere.
The Quad:
Black 07 YFZ450 fully tricked up, Veloce tyres, Lonestar sway bar, Elka shocks dropped as far as they will go, looking a million bucks, but is it enough?
Race 1:
Ready....ready....ready.....CRAP, stalled it on the start line, last place.
Race 2:
Ready....ready....ready....CRAP, poor start thanks to concentrating too much on not stalling, stuck behind Drea who's rear tyres and the track were obviously not getting along too well, too scared to take him just incase he loops out and I T-bone him, his mrs would kill me, last place.
Race 3:
Ready....ready....ready....Yeeha, finally a holeshot, getting more and more in front, feeling super confident....back end is starting to drift nicely....drifting a little more....a little more....a little too much....this isn't looking good....CRAP, looped it out on corner 4 and went infield, last place.
Race 4:
Ready....ready....ready....off we go, pretty good start, sitting in 3rd, much faster riders in front of me, there's Mark Baker, I'm gaining on him....I'm getting closer...oh hang on....no I'm not....there he goes....where did every body go?????
The washup:
Fantastic night, a great way to spend a hot Summer evening, only $20 all up to race, I sucked at it, but I loved it and my bike looked SICK...and lets face it guy's, that's the most important part of all!
I'll be back.
Mick@47

Sounds like a good night Mick. Silly question, but do you have a photo of this sick quad to show us?

mick it was a good night very good .
my placings where race 1
got a reasonabhle start but bogged down a bit , change for third didnt need to take three goes , behind gunny i hate razor 2s right back of let him have it ,
race 2
bit better start this time side by side int turn 1 with darryl still third giving me problems, end corner darryl infront more roost crap finnish in second again.
though the bike felt a bit tippy spin rear tyres , try that
race 3
get the holeshot third finds itself easily this time right get into the groove , can feel dirt hitting the bare skin of my arse , think about slapping it for the poor bloke behind me, hold on for first thats better where i usually come no roost .
race 4
good star then run turn 1 a bit wrong and a banshee gets infront , no no no a 16 year old on a two stroke we cant have that ,, try harder make mistakes he beats me spewin but credit to him he is very quick and aggresive at the turns well done nathan .
final time get a half good start only to be got by the end of turn 2 by darryl then sit in second for next lap nearly getting by darryl then on turn i dont know the number i screw up and get to sideways and the banshee goes sailing past me all i can do is to hang on for third whilst watching the young fella on the 2 stroke reel in darryl and pass him for the win.
the way this is going its going to get really exciting to watch with a few of the guys getting there heads around it and picking up the pace i think we will be in for some really good racing in the future with all of us having to chase a two stroke , well done again nathan you did really well .
final places where
\1st nathan on his adelaide plant and equipment built banshee
2nd darryl on his trx 450
3rd me on my yfz .

don't thank me mark, it's all up to yer ol' mate parker whether we race at gillman or not, so salutations should go his way.
anyone wanting to nominate for 30/12/06 better let me know asap as places are filling fast. if dave needs us for any meeting b4 that i'll let you all know but be warned those who have already ridden get first priority

Great night and yes Micks quad looked hot.
Kevs bus was quite notable too, wierd how you have to step down onto it from level ground.
My old T-rex was on fire. Great starts, 3 wins in the heats and like discos problem this bloody banshee very convincingly walked past me in the last heat.
Being a calculating bastard I thought long and hard on a strategy that might prevent the reoccurance of this incident if i was leading in the final.
the final.
Great start, solid lead and really good lines. Not too much inside line in the corners right out to the wall on the straights.
So how the hell did Nathan walk past me on the outside again.
When I say walk... I mean a stroll in the park. The nugget could do it in his sleep. I swear I saw him yawning with boredom.
I should have taken Kevs offer to beat Nathan up while he held him down before the final.
Well done Nathan. It's a pleasure to watch you work. I hope we can pick the pace up to give you something to work for.

Nup....I'm off him, that little smart arse!
Mick@47
P.S. There is method to my madness. The Aussie way is for the crowd to go for the underdog, so if I play my cards right, I will be the most popular guy out there.

Put me down as a reserve if you like Kev. I can come back for it if the numbers are required, but I will stand down if you have enough. I guess I just described in great detail what the word reserve means, but you already knew that. I must just love the sound of my own keypad taps, but of course you already knew that too. Am I waffling on again?
