So here we go....
Got a call from a chick at KTM Australia last week saying that they are recalling my KTM due to Break Problems!!!! They said they would send me a recall notice via registered post but haven't got any thing yet and advised me not to ride it as the breaks could fail!!!!!!! Did any one else get the call???
This has really got me bummed, as I want to ride and want to practice for TP300.
Plus i just mowed out the bace for my MX track!!!!

Could it be someone scamming you? Do you practice/ ride near population? do you have a cranky (but crafty ) neighbour?
Try calling your bike shop or KTM Australia to confirm this. I just googled it and couldnt find a thing. |

It was me!
Can't believe you guys fell for it.
Seriously, if they haven't got back to you within two weeks I'd be calling my KTM dealer and KTM Australia ASAP and get it fixed.

yes one of the guys over here in W.A. got the call last week and was told the same thing ,not to ride etc and the bike shop said it will take about 2 weeks before they have time to fix it.

Yeh, was told not to ride it due to rear brake caliper mounting bracket and front master cylinder return spring.
There's no way I am just going to garage it though. Have raced it at Old bar flat track since and am running at Toowoomba in a couple of weeks though. Told the guy from KTM this and he was going to get the parts to our local dealer as fast as possible.
Haven't herd a thing since though.

The dealer also phoned me about 2 weeks ago and said a letter was on the way. As of today I have still not recieved the letter!! However, I just phoned my local dealer and booked it in. They had the parts and new all about it. Only took them a half day to sort it out.
So, I suggest you don't wait for a letter and get on with it.

Well KTM Oz couldn't be that concerned..........I heard about this a year ago. Something tells me the legal eagles have got a hold of it and they are now covering their a$$.

Had contact with KTM Australia and this information is to confirm that there is a recall on the frt brake master cyinder plunger return spring and rear brake caliper carrier support for ktm quad - 450 / 525 xc 2008 and 2009 or a 450 / 505 sx 2009 . The replacement parts are in stock and customers should contact there KTM dealer and give them the vin number of the Quad they own so the claim can be entered and the quad can be booked in for the retro fit parts exchange .The registered post letter has been sent and should be rec this week (if not already ). If you are an owner of a ktm quad - 450 / 525 xc 2008 and 2009 or a 450 / 505 sx 2009 please get active and get intouch with your dealer .
They have called all the customers they had listed on the data base with contact details or tried to call and left a message if unavailable

don't know what all the fuss is about at least the had the sense to call there customers about a potential problem and if those whom got the phone call bother to listen its a precaution. The spring in the front master Cly is soft and can cause "bypass " that could make you front brakes work less effective ; possibly fail , big deal about nothing. it happened already to my bike and was repaired during routine maintenance,
the rear caliper mount could possibly crack its recomended that it be changed has any one broke one yet ?
if you have how many brake pads have you worn out because your rinding like a old goat {not talking about you husky}

not yet they are questioning it cause they were contained in a locked up basement carpark under a apartment complex and aint to happy bout that but we did tell them that when we got the bikes a they said no worrys then but now are questioning it put tit this way i got my doubts and migt be paying for them for the next 3 yrs
