I have a 2001 Yamaha Raptor for sale. The motor is currently out of the frame as the gear box needs repairs. The motor has been modified by Phil Tomlin. It has a high comp piston, cam and valve springs. Also has ported head, "bills pipes" muffler, twin air filter kit and jetted carbs. $5000 worth of engine work alone. Asking $2500 as is, No offers. Buyer to pay for freight if interstate. Quad is located in Darwin. Will post photos tomorrow.

I have been told by my local dealer $1400 to $1500 for new parts from yamaha, although I have seen parts cheaper on Ebay.Then labour to assemble. |

| I will let you know as I am doing mine now. It is best to replace with a later model gearbox than fix as it will happen again. |

| What actually happens to the gearbox ? Is it only prone to 01 models ? The reason I ask is I have an '04, but my mate has the ' 01. |

It is only the 01 with a weak gearbox. The 1st & 2nd geard stuff up.

| Raptor 09 is prone to gearbox problems too. Know of 3 just in australia alone now. |
