Sure racing around a track would be fun...

but who pulls up to a set of lights and says i'll race you around the block?

hmmm what was the ltr designed for ??

motox racing ...... and i agree with stockoduner race a banshee on a track for a day takes it right out of ya compared to the new plusher riding 4 strokes i used to race a shee on mx but would never go back now lol

Folks, Banshee's will always rule the roost in the dunes the new generation 4 strokes just dont have it when it comes to outright HP. The good thing about the dunes you dont have to have excellent handling. New generation 4 strokes for track work Banshee's for dunes period. I will meet up with you boys if you like and show you what a real Banshee goes like and beleive me you wont see the back of me just a sand storm. I was out there to day giving an 09 300 KTM with paddle a real hurry up I wont even tell ya where the 4 strokes were, still on the start line. By the way the new generation 4 strokes wear out quicker than my Banshee and you LTR boys watch ya gearboxes ya dont wont to put to much HP through them they may spit there guts.

are you serious? i know what i would rather have on the sand dunes and it isn't a banshee. you obviously have never owned a 4 stroke as you think a banshee would outlast a 4 stroke with maintainance.
believe me i have owned all and a banshee is very old school, a hoot on the dunes as i still get a giggle when it hits band, but i would never look back now. what ever brand of 4 stroke it is.
Bad Banshee i think you too much 2 stroke oil going through your veins.

Roycroft I do have it in my veins, I sold a good Raptor 700 (good bike) to get my Banshee and I have never looked back. I suppose its personal preferance but I will state one thing I would never own a Banshee out side of the Dunes. I now one thing I dont giggle I laugh when I smoke the modern 4 strokes down the 1/8 mile. Next you will be telling me the Can Ams are a good thing.

Hi Oz, my Banshee is far from stock but to get the same amount of horspower out of a Can Am that I have out of my Banshee would cost a small fortune then the reliability of the 450s start to go out the window. By the way if there so good you dont see many of them around or do they have reliability problems like the larger Can Ams. I mean thats not to say the Jap 450s are better I have heard some horror stories concerning the Suzukis and Yamahas. But my Banshee continues to punch outside of its weight division all the time and delivers knock out blows to 4 strokes and especially for what I paid for the motor thanks to JMC Racing. By the way everyone knows that the Banshee must be the most restricted quad out there not to mention when was the last time the model seen some R&D.

i used to have a 01 banshee with pipes and a fair bit of engine work and other stuff that i raced on in mx first and ya the r and d is years behind lol 2 laps on it and i was stuffed next 2 were a struggle now with the ltr i can get through all 4 without to much of a struggle feel it but my body isnt as fatigued from it

Oz ,I totaly agree with what your saying but I am talking about the Dunes only. I would never even try and race a Banshee on an MX track period. But at the dunes you shoot big hill climbs, drag race, jump natural terrain jumps and piss about every one knows that thats why we go there. I have total respect for what your saying but how about you try and put 70+ HP through a Can Am gearbox with only clutch modifications and I know of Banshees with 90+ hp with only clutch modifications and if and thats if you could get that type of HP out of a Can Am I know where the gearbox would be in your lap. Mate its different horses for different courses and the Banshee's rule supreme in the dunes. We know the Banshee was light years ahead of its time when it was first made thats why they still go good and there's zillions of them out there. We all know with pipes and an air cleaner the Banshee come alive big time.

I'd love to hit the dunes over there with you Banshee guys just to test my wears.
Maybe we do sand differently down here in SA.
Outright drag racing and beach stuff is not usually a focus.
Getting a high speed snake going and chasing each other around is the best fun.
If you are quicker, and up the back somewhere, you just style it up a bit and go higher on the dunes.
best fun you can have on a quad.

We do a fair bit of sitting at the top of big dunes and seeing who can get the most air off the top with the shortest run up, bla bla bla
that seems to be a pretty good way to waste a lot of our time.

Personally, I don't like paddles in the dunes.
They give you as much grip as riding in the dirt and I'm there to slide and carve.
Paddles make the biggest hills too easy.

For sand, gimme a tyre with a nice soft round sidewall any day laughing

And Banshees...
they're great.
You gotta appreciate the differences no matter which one you ride.

Does anyone know anything about those old single rotor suzuki road bikes?
How would one of those compare to a banshee?
Someone needs to make a 1/2 13B Quad, that would be different eek

hey guys keep up the insults its great.

everyone is always going to have there differeances on 4 vrs 2 stroke.

even if the evidence is right in front of them with a drag race.

you can't change there thoughts.

thats the beauty of Quad racing, we have such a great selection of ATVs on the market. unfortunetly 2 stroke are on the out as 4 stroke power is becoming more efficent and advanced.

the real question is to have a line of stock 450s and banshees with no paddles and i know the banshees would lose.

there you argument settled???
