Hey there,

I have an 06 yfz450. Its been through some pretty tough terrain, rolled crashed and still runs like a dream. Plenty of parts to pick from and everyone you will talk to about atvs will Know someone that has something for a yfz

I know thats one sided but thats my right beening a yamy owner.

Cheers james

yes the yfz 450's are very reliable, i used to own one and never had a problem and my mate has it now , its an 05 its still running strong.

but go for an 06 and up . my old yamie had all the 06 up dates done to it, but the motor is still standard.

never had the other models so i cant comment.

theres a few bargans on here now.

haha, this thread is going to be a long and boring sh*t fight.

i think it could be closed after this has been said:

go for a ride on each bike you have mentioned, then buy the one you like the most and can get the best deal on.

ps do some searching on here to see what has been said about the above mentioned bikes.

Kwaka when dont in this tread.?????????? ENGLISH is needed in this thread though.

Look what I wrote before was having some fun.

Back to topic at hand, Bang for buck it's hard to limit yourself to just those 3 models.

Polaris is offering some great deals on bikes and there are alot of people that swear by them. Just ask Husky.

Honda have been a proven product for a long time now that have a strong reliable engine, more so than the Yamaha.

Kawasaki are similar to the can am in the fact they have an alloy frame and it seems to be the way of the future. Even Yamaha have introduced it in their 09. Fuel injection is also a bonus with the kwaka.

Suzuki being wide from the factory and reasonbly bullet proof also have to be mentioned.

Can am are a little hard to get a non factory backed answer at the moment as there aren't many people on this forum with one that don't have a race plan of some sort from Can am themselves.

All these bikes are good things and it's getting to the point of which colour do you like, blue, red, yellow, green, black or orange. Try to sit on them all to see what feels comfortable and if possible ride them and go with you like the look and feel of.

Hutto is right about getting an un-biased opinion, probably about any model really as most people are going to go for the brand they own or have some kind of affilition to.

How many people on here can honestly say that they have ridden all of the current crop of sports quads to be able to compare them to each other? I've had a go on everything I coul dget my hands on over that last 12 months and still havent got to ride all of them.

All the 450's are overall good bikes in their own right, to partly answer your question wrxshee.

For outright speed I believe the DS has the most potential being the lightest and fastest accelerating of the bunch and also is the least likley to develop engine problems due to its over protective engine managment system but as far as chassis longevity goes I'd pit the honda over the others.

I will put my 2 cents in even though i'm a real novice

After looking at all the top manufacturers and doing alot of homework

and then buying my first quad !!

I went for the quad that i really liked the look of
that's my opinion

They are all so competitive now and there is not alot between them all....i think it's just down to personal preference

Get the one you like the look of the most, put way too many aftermarket parts on it, then put it in the shed and run out of time to ride it. Works for me!

Or do the same thing but with two quads, one for racing and one for practice, then run out of time to ride let alone practice anymore.......

I'm feeling your pain my brother.
We should start a support group for quad enthusiasts that don't get the chance to ride any more.

As said earlier, just go for the one you like the look of, can get the best deal on and also has good dealer support in your area.
Make sure it feels comfortable to you as well. Sit on it in a normal ride position, turn the bars side to side and then stand and do the same thing. Slide around the seat a bit as well.
Kawasaki, Suzuki, Honda, Yamaha, Polaris, Can Am, KTM all make great bikes.
They all have small problems as well, but nothing that will rear its head unless you treat the bike like crap.
If you like heaps of bling, stay with the Jap bikes as the aftermarket is huge.

And you decided on a 700XX??? They look like Darth Vader crossed with a VW Beetle. Don't get me wrong I think they will be an awesome Off Road quad but dam they are ugly
