its bad again to see yamaha not stepping up to the plate with a full race team. you would think with there new 09 model that they would do a full assult.
maybe with the economy the way it is they might be doing things the same way.
http://www.atvscene.com/fyi08/yamaha_1114.html
on the other hand KTM are stepping up to the plate to offer a good $$ contingency. _________________ 2012 sponsors, Working on it. |

Wouldn't it be because yamaha has the market sown up ,where as ktm has like 1% of the market place.
Out at stockton yamaha out number even the all mighty honda by at least 80%.
You will have to convince yamaha the advantages to supporting atv racing in oz.....somehow?? for this season??? _________________ OH "profanity removed" I SAID "profanity removed".......OH "profanity removed" I SAID "profanity removed" |

The Yamaha shop in Darwin sponsors at least 12 riders though race plans and real money work like repairs and parts .. I know how much this costs and if they did a polaris and sponsored 1 team would we lose our grass roots help. don't know just gotta look on the other side of the fence sometimes
I don't benefit from Yamaha but people in our club sure do.

I agree too Husky.
Dealer level race plan is one of the most important types of assistance the manufacturers and dealers can give to the industry. We are lucky with Polaris here in Adelaide that we have a dealer like Scootaround who helpes out many riders, whether he get's manufacturer support or not, and I know there are a heap of other dealers around the country who do the same. We just need to make sure we let all of our riding mates know who these awsome dealers are, so they get some support back from all of us. Buy from those who support the sport.

sorry Yam Lucen if you look at the original post and its link (obviously you didn't) it is directed to the USA not australia. my post was originally aimed at Yamaha USA for not stepping up to the plate with a full factory race team.
this is not a personal attack against Yamaha and who they sponsor and don't, its just a fact that the japanese manufactures in the states are not doing anything pro active at the pro level, Honda especially.
do you not agree with me still, or do you know something more than me about the pro teams in the USA?
as for Yamaha/Honda australia, no i do not have any idea who they support nationwide. this has never been made public besides the obvious Pros they support.
if you read back on one of my posts back early in year, i suggested that all riders that get some support from there manufactures in Australia, to let us know so we are all aware there support they get, and also to plug there sponsors.
like what huskygoat and mick said, they need to keep this up or we will lose our grass roots.
i think it is great that yamie and honda support more riders than i originally thought in Oz, but wouldn't it be better if they did that little bit more to assist there loyal riders like what Kawasaki, Polaris and Can Am do?
since you have such an idea of all riders that get supported from Yamaha, tell me all of them. _________________ 2012 sponsors, Working on it. |

I think you might find Mick that in the ?States there is only one full factory run race team and thats Suzuki. The rest only have Factory support _________________ Smitty |

one point i will comment on here Mick is only one loyal rider on the entire can am race team and that is Rick Beer ( i am talking before the new ds450 deals were made as none of you guys rode a 650 to race mx except the man stated)
yourself was a suzuki rider last season as was smitty and bullet was honda and JB was yamaha
as for kawa and polaris well none or there *factory aussie riders* were riding them brands before this year either
im all for riders who get these sponsorship deals but anyone will jump at a offer to be given a bike and IMO most did including yourself so well done for getting the backing but loyality to the stated brand is only one man until the deals got offered this year and that is Rick Beer _________________ black covered in 5.7 powered oversize quad
