Watch out for people selling stuff unbelievably cheap on the tradingpost and asking you to use ebay "vehicle purchase protection". This service is only for ebay purchases and you never Western Union for any payments to ebay(or anybody else). I have just been conned for $3600 for a 2007 raptor 700, It should have rang sirens off the bat but I thought that I was dealing with someone with stuff all knowledge about the quad but I got rolled over a log by some low life scum.
Absolute heartbreak...could`ve used the cash for a quad.....gotta start saving again.[/img] |

I had a guy on e-bay trying to sell worlds "fastest banshee"
looked the part had a swing arm about six feet long..bright green..bullshit motor. etc $5000
said it was in a contaner in melbourne waiting to be posted the the buyer..
i ended up sending the add n text to the cops n reported it to e-bay..
he even sent me a mobile number that i later foiund out was a pre paid.,
so he just changed the card after hes scam..
any ways i rang him n gave him a piece of my mind..then texted him a billion more times..
rip off brstrds..

Sorry to here that Brumpy, I actually emailed the guy and his story changed to the one he told on Trading Post. I then tried to ring his number which was a wrong number so i decided not to purchase it thank Christ!!!!!! Just warning people....... I`ve already given all the details to authorities.
StephenHansel@hotmail.com is the email address, they sent through pretty covincing ebay pages and even had an online help which was quick and always there...until after I sent the cash through.

Well in that case I'm reporting you to yogie. His rules are you must provide proof. Don't ridicule me over his rules! yogie is the moderator and I'm just his trusty sidekick helping him out.
Also, I expect you to remove the 'absolutely useless' comment as it is a personal attack and also against forum rules. Only my wife can call me that as she has the proof.

Brumpy, thanks for posting the warning. I can't see that you were slandering anyone or any business. You were pointing out that some low-life had figured out how to manipulate you using two businesses that generally provide good services. I have bought plenty of stuff through the Trading Post and through eBay and they have some good services to offer. The fact that some criminal ripped you off takes nothing away from those businesses.
I think it is good to have stories like this shared in this forum. Younger people (and sometimes us old timers) need to think twice before trusting people sometimes (more and more these days!). I would prefer to think people can read about the experiences of others and learn from their mistakes without more people making the mistake you made - better that one person lose out and save others rather than a whole lot of people get ripped off. |
