Was expecting someone else to start the topic but I'll do the honors
Pro Class
1st) Harold Goodman (USA)
2nd) Doug Gust (USA)
3rd) Quinten Palmer (NZ)
4th) Kory Ellis (USA)
5th) Ian Fitch (NZ)
Wasn't paying much attention to the other classes sorry.
The track was Natural Terrain with a couple of jumps but nothing too technical.
A special section compromising of a 70ft double and two smaller doubles with a stutter section was built to allow the yanks to show they're stuff. _________________ Yes i am a farmer, and NO that doesn't make me stupid, just MAD! KTM 505sx, the chicken splitter |

was just wondering, is queensland holding the auz nats next year? because it might be more worthwhile to wait for that.

No I don't think that is true. It will go to whoever puts a bid in for it I think. So if you guys want it get off your ass and make it happen. Look what it's done for quad racing in Vic. It can do the same for Qld if you make it happen _________________ Smitty |

Mate what are you doing, not a cheap fix cases alone were around $900 + labour, I'll give you a ring tonight mate see what we can work out.
In regards to the nats Kory was apparently suffering from arm pump (typical with standard yamaha thumb throttle) and looked to be lacking horsepower, not to take anything away from the kiwis though they are certainly fast riders. Good battle in the chicks class, congrats ning, think you need to upgrade to a 450 though. _________________ Yes i am a farmer, and NO that doesn't make me stupid, just MAD! That was what I was hoping but the guy at the bike shop must need the money and against my better judgement I left it with them . He reckoned the hole was to big , it busted a 2 inch hole out the rear of where the clutch mechanism enter's the case.
hence constant pressure and movement . I should have tried to weld it but in Murphy's law rule number 1 If it can go wrong it will go wrong , made me think It could develop a leak in the midddle of a race without me noticing .
Where did you bust your's |

I supose it all comes down to who you know. . . Ian Ffitch who is our club pres raced with the pros for like 5 years in the states way back, got tight with the pros and he still goes back there every year so he knows them well
Anyways its not the first time the yanks have come over, in 2003 or 04 we had tim farr and shane hitt, in the 90's gustand someone else and there has been two others.
Our club payed for the air fares, got new bikes for all of them and practically did everything they wanted to get the over here, and then your nats need to coincide with their time off- a lot of hard work |

i smashed it where the clutch lever goes through the motor
kept the engine together pulled it out the bike and took it to a head reconditioning place to get welded
then got a die grinder inside the case where the clutch shaft goes in
put in a new bearing and shaft and it well
has done for about 12 months |

Spot on Ning it is who you know and Fitch certainly has the contacts through his racing ability and is well respected by many riders in the states. NZ is well respected in USA with Pikes Hill and the likes , we have yet to build this relationship .another person to gain respect is Matt Coulter in QLD. Nic Grandlund recommended I speak to him.
I recentley contacted Nic Grandlund regarding the Super Moto series in Las Vagas and hope to start building that Relationship we need in Australia in hope to get the talented Yanks to our shores and Talented Ozzies to theres for the promotion of ATV racing World wide.
