I am thinking of buying a new quad myself but i want something faster than him so what would your recommendations be.

this might help, ill give u an idea how my bike behaves (stock).As far as the trx450 goes first gear is very tall but not a big drama, once u hit 2nd/3rd & 4th it pulls really hard, by the time u hit half throttle in top gear its got nothin left then wants to cruise(mind u i dont normally hit the rev limiter) but now i have a new piston with higher compression ratio & cam so now i can pull harder again in top gear, & i reckon top speed (stock) would b somewhere around the 130km/hr mark but now the top end has been done i have no idea, im not really interested in top speeds but more so how quick u can get the thing to top speed...cheers

Thank's Big JB, Do you think this is the same for the YFZ 450 or does that pull all the way up to the limiter in top gear??


Still not significantly faster than a banshee but probably would have a lot more low down grunt off the mark would'nt you say and should be able to hold with him up top.

crap... what is written above here isnt what i wrote, anyway the yfz, well ive only ridden 1 once & they ride like an ltz400 (my opinion)but with a sh*it load more grunt, just going off the 1 ride i had the yammie had smooth workable power & yes just kept going to the limiter..banshee's? well i only ever ride with 1 banshee & mate that thing is anything but stock, try 100-110hp@the wheels, u dont beleive it until u c it, ask yogie, he knows who im talkin about..!

WTF!!! 100-110hp@ the wheels are you kidding me? what would be the top speed on that thing it would be a missile, what HP @ the wheel's are stock Banshee's??

OK Bottom line, if you were to work the "profanity removed" out of all the above bike's mentioned at the start of my topic, which would be the fastest bar none, and what Quad would make the absolute most HP out of them all without adding stuff like NOS and stuff on them, i mean just bolt on's and engine upgrade part's no forced induction and no power adder's like NOS.

look at stockton sand drag results in diff thread on this forum was a banshee that won all its races there against nos powered and stroked and worked raptors , ds 650 , yfz and honda 450's

its all very well to have horsepower but that doesnt equate to huge top speeds.

mate first up that banshee i mentioned is a freak of nature, dont quote me on this but that bike has somthing like a 429cc 2 stroke road bike engine in it, top speed?, wouldnt b suprised if it does +200km/h , i know from an eye witness who told me it blew the arse off a VY SS on the road once, & froggy makes a good point about HP & top speeds, HP is great but getting it to the ground & making it useable it another matter....& as far as working a bike 2 the max, well your asking the wrong bloke 4 a start. Im just an average trail rider so my riding experience only goes so far but i listen & learn from the right people. if u wanted a hard core machine ud probably b looking at what some guy from SA did 2 a raptor, he had a R1 road bike donk put in it, saw it in an ad once. The thing was good 4 around 180hp, imagine that!!! crazy!, u would have 2 b so careful about how/where u rode it. used to see that r1 powered raptor out at a place we ride thing was never taken of the trailer , he said it was because of the dust it created but i reckon its because of the dodgy frame,, it was one really quick way to destroy a bike .
that same guy will also tell you he had the fastest banshee in australia , it had a cool head so that made it a missile .
why is it that when you start talking about top speed and horse power you end up listening to someone who dont know "profanity removed" about it , not meaning any one on this forum talkin about the dude with the r1 raptor.
that bike had no nurfs kill swith or anything when i seen it and the dude was riding around with no protective gear then telling us how cool he was
