Hi Guys, thanks heaps for the congrats.
We got home yesterday arvo and I just got through all my e mails.
I had the easy job. All I did was ride! Dominic from Hustler ATV and Anthony from Just Muscle cars did all the hard work. Dominic would have that thing ready to roll every morning and Anthony would have the paperwork sorted. Having said that we were in high spirits all the way and constantly cracking jokes. I could not have asked for a better crew. Even the parts Dominic supplied worked awesome. I ran the front MAXXIS RAZRII tyres that I used at Finke and rode them to Perth! NO BLOW OUTS! I also used the same RAZZR II rears that I used at Finke and changed them half way through. Again, no blow outs. If it were'nt for the tar sections I think I could have finished the event with one set.
We almost DNF on the last day with the exhaust blowing out and melting the thermo fan and then I almost drowned it at the water crossing (I stepped off of it and she floated to the surface so I rafted it across like a boat!) but luck was on our side.
Well done to all that entered and had a go and hard luck to those that did not finish. Special shout out goes to Viv (what a tough lady) and Vicus (I told you about those big bloody rabbits) and Shane (more big rabbit issues).
I hope to see everyone back next year with many extra riders.
Thanks to everyone that helped make this possible.
If you need quad parts, see Dominic at Hustler ATV.
If you want a tough Muscle car, see Anthony at Just Muscle Cars.
If you want a great Quad, see Dave at Scootaround.
What else could a bloke ask for.
Cheers.

well that's was a lot of fun we had luck on our side from the start, john did do some hard work of course . We put in a lot of pre planing, don't think we have ever been that over-prepared for any race b4.
I was stressing about my bus getting there; with the fan belts breaking just out of Port Augusta (and we could find any replacements) just then I remembered that the old ones were in a compartment under the bus (they are still on there now). We travelled 7200 kms all-up in the bus (now thats a long trip), we also had the clutch slipping but john got under the bus and adjusted it (now that had me stressed),then the head lights got stuck on so we had to mend that (sort of ) one morning no lights on the bus so we quickly hard wired it managed to get one light on (we didnt tell john about this till later) and later on the head light switch started melting and smoke was coming out of the steering column. We found the the plug had come loose and it was arking out and melting the wires. We fixed it and then we managed to get bogged on the way to a fuel stop (now that could have ended the race) but a very nice couple stopped with a f250 and pulled us out; we would have been there for hours if they didnt stop. Luckily we had no problems after that with the old girl.
Then to the safari... Our plan was to get the quad to perth even if we were coming last , this is like no other enduro we have done b4 so anything can go wrong (even something as simple as a $2 part) , waiting at the fuel stops and not knowing if John had a brokendown etc was stressfull . Working as a team is the key; we had anthony as the paper work guy and me as the bolt turner and john the rider and that was spot on.
we met Vicus from South Africa and his mate Jukki from perth; he built his quad in four days (now that's an effort). We met them at sign-in and from the first time we spoke we just hit it off. We took them out to dinner that night and had a ball, some of the stories he told us were just unreal he even knew Andy Haden and Andy Caldicot. John just happend to have Andy Haden's number so Vicus gave him a call , (they had done the dakar together).
Expect to see Vicus here in OZ again, he is in high spirts (still just waiting in perth hospital for knee surgery) he said he was lucky with the roo (rabbit) not doing more damage to him.
We also met Hussky , v8toy and linc ; top people we all camped together each night and helped each other out as much as we could a lot of long nights.
There is so much that happened I could go on forever but i will put up some pics soon instead. _________________ hustleratv.com.au 0407 797 780
