when i was racing my banshee it got a rebuild once a year (pistons/rings bearings hone/bore. I never had an engine failure

But if its a rec bike and well maintained with out getting the arse floged out of it, then you will get years of enjoyment without problems. My 01 wr250f has never had the head off it.

Same with the kawi lakota quad

i put whenever it breaks for my shee, normally once every 2 years about, or when it goes under 105 psi compression

lol yeah and then on a ride one day you break a ring and it takes out your piston, bore, head and crank... instead of just replacing the rings periodically!

17,000 klm and still going strong valve clearances checked by mechanic and all ok
