Three of us went on the latest Cairns to Cape York ride. We rode two 2008 Suzuki LTR450s and a 2008 Yamaha YFZ450. The bikes went really well and we had a ball. It was weird getting back to Stockton after doing nearly 3000ks on dirt roads and tracks!! Will post some pics when I have worked out how to do it.

Thanks guys. Most days were a mixture of highway and tracks, but the best day of all was our last and that was the Creb! Lots of mud, hills, and river crossings. Everyone loved it.

Here's the missing photo. This river crossing was the first decent sized one on the Old Telegraph Track. I had made it smaller and deleted it by mistake.

While we were doing the 400k day, we were wishing for a lounge chair like the guys on the big Can-ams had, but it wasn't too bad. Suzi seats are fairly comfy.......Thumbs suffered more than any other part.

We only rode through the river crossings if we knew that it wasn't too deep. We were riding with the lids off our airboxes, so sometimes it was a case of putting that on before crossing, but usually, we'd just float them across if it was deep. My husband got water in his airbox a couple of times, nothing serious because the filter didn't get wet and he just drained it out the little thing on the bottom. Some got caught out, but were able to get going again after taking out the spark plugs etc. Everyone had tools!! You're right about the dual gassers Hulk, some had them and we would definately put one on if we went on such a big ride again.

We went with Aussie Quad Adventures. They are based in Queensland. There were 40 odd quads on the Cape York ride and it cost about $3500 each. Accommodation and food is included and quad transport from Brisbane. We estimated it cost about $700 for fuel for each of our Suzukis too. The ride started and ended at Atherton, so we had to get ourselves there as well. It was well worth it though, something different, and an experience that we will never forget.
