hey all was thinking about putting a bigger piston in my bike, something to bore it to a 440cc. what does anybody rekon, i was wondering if anybody has done something like this to a trx, if so could you tell me what the best parts are to use and general info etc,etc, keeping in mind i still want it to be reliable if possible, with more power, any info would be great.thanks

DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT take your 400 out to 89mm. Reliability goes straight out the window. 416cc is ok though, get a revbox to lift the rpm limit and possibly a FCR carb and your in business. Oh yeah send it to serco in Brisbane they do wiseco. Cheers mate

do you know where i could buy the parts for this, would i need to get it re sleeved? i live in WA i have a good mechanic around the my area so he can do all the fitment, will this be a noticable gain in power??

How many mm oversize is 416cc ?, and do the 11:1 pistons require stronger head studs?

85mm is standard, I think 86 is 416cc, 87 is 426cc (no sleeving required). 89mm needs bigger sleeve, everything gets hotter, oil needs to be changed more often. 11:1 is ok, I had head studs strip on left side and have head gaskets blow twice since. Local shop has had a destroyed xr400 come in so i'm gonna grab the cylinder and go back a few mm.
