Okay with all the interest in the other thread, I'd though I'd start a whole new topic, where we can show what we use, software, Google earth and the like. Any tips, sharing waypoints if you want to. Its up to you.

I use the meridian yellow, its old and reliable, B/W screen, will wash up in a puddle... Very Happy it has back track, plus all he features of the merdian series gps's. I use the discover Aus mapping, this brilliant software.

I use Garmin Etrex, good for Quad and Jetski. Has a "Home" function that has been a lifesaver on a few occasions.

Comes with handlebar mount also.

Rossco , you can buy them on ebay from a crowed in Sydney called "Mr Boats" for about $100 + handlebar bracket. They are waterproof, have more functions than the average surveyer would ever need , and are pretty darn foolproof. U have seen mine on my bike before , its yellow , has even got us "unlost" with you in tow a few times LOL !!!
Darren and Huge use the same one .

I use a Magellan 600 with the Discover Aust. Topo maps card which is fantastic. Used whenever out on the quad in the bush, car, mountain bike. The maps are good enough to go from the bush around my place with 4x4 tracks to the Melbourne traffic snarls.

Doesnt have the turn by turn feature that the mios and the like have, but did not want the gps to send me the wrong way after 6mths when the software goes out of date!

The cheapo bottom of the line Navman thinks it is lost 200 m up my driveway.

I use a Garmin etrex. It's cheap and cheerful however I think I might buy a Contour HD GPS. Check the site below.

I went for a shooting/quad trip recently a GPS would have been a god send. I have done some research and I like the Hema Navigator. I know they're not cheap but they do have better "off road" applications useful for when you're not on the black stuff. Saving as I type.... Wink

Queenslander is a religion. If you're not getting dirty, you're not riding hard enough.
