It is a Chinese Quad it is not based on the Yamaha Grizzly range as none of them to date are watercooled, the advertisment claims styled along the Grizzly range and that is a big difference, not saying that it is not a good Quad or that it is not good value for money. _________________ we do not stop racing because we grow old

Im a bit of a mechanical gumby Goat even though Ive done engineering I just never dealt bikes/cars etc, just did my industrial gear.
But I thought that toeing in and toe-out were actually geometry factors you wanted to be able to control on race cars, quads etc. I certainly know that camber is on flat tyres so not really for quads as such.
Even seen a post on here about toeing in or out the tyres for a style of riding.
Is that not true? Or are you just laughing because of the dicotomy of a chinese quad having that capability _________________ www.asho.com.au for your shooting and outdoor needs

Cant find a post on them anywhere, they certainly arent the $13,000 bike they claim (and you can buy Grizz for around $10k atm) but they are a definate step up on the Chinese stuff, as good as an E-ton?
If I could only find out if they have a point of failure and that it wasnt catastrophic and upgradable getting them for $4800 is better than a 10 yo highly used Jamerican quad. They'll both be worth nothing in 5 years anyway.
Oh and I forgot to mention I love their luggage pack their asking $900 retail and theyre getting $600 e-bay not a bad extra, even a good buy for your Jamerican Rec/Ute. _________________ www.asho.com.au for your shooting and outdoor needs

Geeman just a quick one on chinese bikes ,yes they are cheaper they look good go good .but they carnt take a lot of punisment .i bought a mojo for my 10year old son and it goes fantastic .
its a 110cc motobike probably ridin it about 200hours he isnt hard on it but the rear sproket is worn out the brake peddle broke.handle bars cracked,i fixed all of it and after 2 year it still goes ok.
the steel they use and the aluminium is not good quality like the jap bikes but for the money great.
i wouldnt buy a quad to do my sort of trips, but day to day riding and having fun sure . _________________ 2008 yamaha grizzly 700EPS /EFI

Thanks outback for the review.
Have I mentioned I really like their luggage pack??
I dont think I'll give it any serious consideration atm but I did point it out to a friend who was looking for a quad so his Missus did not have to stay at base camp while they rode. But I think the idea of riding was pretty flat with their 8-10yo son. _________________ www.asho.com.au for your shooting and outdoor needs

Hi All,
I am new to the forum and have just purchased the Apache 500. I have been sitting back looking at these Quads for some time before making the purchase.
I have to say that the quality for a Chinese bike is outstanding, this would have to be the best Quad I have seen come out of China. I have not been able to fault the bike in any way, right down to how they are packaged for shipping.
The Tomahawk Apache 500 is water cooled and they are basing it as an affordable copy of the Grizzly. I will put the Apache quad through it's paces on our farm and report back with how it performs over time.
I would like to hear some feedback from anyone else that has purchased one.
Regards
Glenn |
