Aint no load of crap my boy all vehicles were serviced by the dealer and if you dont beleive me come to the ACT the peace of crap still sits on the dealer floor. I have spoken to other Polaris owners that have had similar problems. You need to wake up boy I said it was my opinion and any way there is people on this site that can back it up. By the way do you work for Polaris.

Listen hear load of crap you need to get you facts right all quads were serviced by the dealer. The Outlaw had done 50km and I took it back and asked for a refund so it shows servicing was never a part of it load of crap. I said it was my personal experiance and opinion or carnt you read.
All I know is quality control must have been out the back having a few puffs of happy weed while my quads passed through. Any way what kind of backward company has metric bolts on the motor and imperial on the chassis really. Since then I have bought to Jap Quads flogged them twice as hard as I ever did the Polaris's and they have not missed a beat.

I said to Polaris I was going to be there living nightmare and I intend to be after ripping me off $26000

OK time out Bad Blaster.

No matter what has been said or what the view is or what has happened the public posting board has stardards.

People are too often forgetting the guidelines/rules to posting on the forum.

If it gets to the stage where anyone feels the need to make personal; insults or slanders at another poster either underhanded or directly its time you had a bex and a lie down.

Of course i like everyone will have some view on lemons, who's had them and who sells them. But this post from me is not about that.

Its about ethics and standards. If you cant comply, dont post. It says a lot abouot a persons character as to whether or not they start and or respond to persoal insults when enjoining a topic or thread,

We ALL could use to show a little professionalism as well as the passion we feel about our sport.

So maybe we can take a few deep breaths and go back and fix any mistakes we have made in the way of personal remarks about other people whether you know them personally or in this case not.

Regards

Gavin

Beg Pardons Bro, blaster and banshee being poles apart except both being smellies (2 strokes)

It is terribly difficult to remain detatched in what is a very personal circumstance.

My own personal belief is I really dont think there is that many lemons actually making it to market. That is in the model sense.

Sure a bad one might have slipped out of manufacturing but to be honest I put almost all of it down to dealer set-up and their training and experience with a product. It may even come down to an individual person in a dealership. Thats how tight an angle we have to shoot at sometimes.

Surely in this case we need dealers who are more willing to take the problem on from word dot and stand up for the product THEY put out the door. I mean they get bike in bits and pieces, its up to them in a lot of instances to turn metal into art, the kinda art we want to ride our hearts out on and empty out wallets at, crack open a cold one and just touch her lovingly like a woman....... whoa G whoa, thats just you. LOL Lets erase that picture fropm our minds shall we!! hehe

At the end of the day if we come home from a ride with bugs and dirt screened through our teeth we know we been smiling (or in real agony) and thats what makes us wanna do it again.

Hope you've posted some pics of your ride so I can have a look at your work.

I raced a Predator in South Africa and now race a 525 IRS in WA. I believe that the IRS is really suited for Desert/offroad and not for motor cross. The service I have received from my local Polaris dealer in Perth( Jet Power) has been fantastic and he has gone out of his way to assist me in everyway. Luke Beechey has also been great with advice and assistance at the Finke Desert Race. Which is a lot more than my local Yamaha dealer was prepared to do. It is disapointing to hear that someone is unhappy with Polaris's service but it could just be an isolated incident, lets hope so.
I raced a staight axle quad quad for many years and will not go back to one now that i have had a taste of the IRS. It is not everyones cup of tea but it sure is a winner as far as i am concerned. Every brand has some quirks and Polaris is no different. Have a chat to Luke Beechey or check out predatorowners .com they have heaps of info on the Outlaw's. They are doing extremely well in the South African national off-road series this year. This series has been predominantly dominated by Can Am in the past. This year the Outlaw is giving them a run for there money.

Dunno whats been upsetin Bad banshee eek , dont think he actually stated the problems , faults he had... other than being Mad . I've had the 525s since jan logged up a fair few HARD km and had no major probs ...a couple things 2 check is the radiator plastic on the r/hand side may rub on the radiator/overflow tank [i just filed a bit off the plastic] and ya have2 b carefull not 2 overtighten the bolts on the swingarm axle retainer/adjustment..but overall pretty happy with the standard of build, dealer etc

Lads pissed from my view coz dealership didnt take any ownership of the problems as they should have. To my mind a dealer may sell a brand of bike, but its their product.

If they arent covered by neccesary agreements with Polaris to deal with lemons by troubleshooting at say 3rd level support (Maybe a a polaris race mechanic comes in for the day say) its not like they should have to be begging Polaris to seel their bikes.

Also as I said like theres no real genuine lemons at the model level anymore, engineering has to the greater extent got past that.

I can only feel somebody setup something wrong somewhere.

He mentions the amount of cash he's put at it. I'd be tearing doors off!! Laughing

So long as weve helped him and VJ clear the air, he's vented and he's cool.

Quite a disappointment for polaris who I quite rate, product wise.

Didn't BadB say his was an '06 with the 500Fuji in it?. If so they were crap; completly riddled with issues that stem from the design stages of the project......it was the first sport IRS model.

The first 525's were not much better but about mid way through '07 the design flaws were rectified and ever since they have come on in leaps and bounds.

Late model '07's (black) and the newer '08's (red & white) are a pretty good piece of kit.

If BB says his gave him nothing but problems I have no reson doubt him.

Linc

and I'd be way pi$$ed too

Ive been reading this thread and finding out what crap I ride and sell.
I do agree that the Outlaw had some issues.
But to say that there all crap is not really fair.
I have owned Predators and Outlaw 500 & 525 IRS & SA and have only
had one problem with my SA 525 getting too hot at Finke on the road
section, other than that, Ive had a faults run with them for years.
Polaris came to the party with parts (let me cover my own labor) even
though they dont warranty bikes that have been raced.
In my case - riden on a race track.
That's my 2 cents worth - sorry hear you have a bad run with the Brand.

Hi folks I bought an Outlaw 500 the same as the 525 but a different engine and not be rude but is was the biggest peace of rubbish I have ever owned. I took it back to the dealer and told him to shove it and got a 700 Raptor. The funny thing is the Outlaw still sits on the dealer floor over 12 months later no one will touch it. If I told you all the things wrong with it I would be still typing next year. I also owned a Polaris 800 and that was just as bad. The reliability and build quality are rubbish. Sorry folks just my personal experence and opinion. Pray nothing goes wrong because Polaris dont like to cough up warranty claims.

Polaris dont threaten the Web Server like you do and have this post
removed.

07 500 outlaw.....
i can keep up with my 2 wheeler mates down single lane tracks and in some cases outride em!

I dont think that the problem is in the Polaris corner as much as it is in the dealer and local shops as I waited for ever for some parts and had to re-order them a month later!

worst thing about this quad is going through tyres!
most costly thing ive had to keep up to it!

welded the stock sway bar... 2 times.... tho land sideways hard and that would happen!

I guess the 500irs will be tested soon enough.... tho flight plan is only over 45-55foot....

having only ridden a quad with IRS will i find it hard to go to straight axel?
(as weight will be an issue as i get better)

OK Lads, glad to see some one stated that the first Outlaws (500cc) were rubbish because mine was a disaster where do you want me to start excessive play in the rear drive shafts, excessive play in rear hubs, excessive play in shocks front and rear upper and lower bolt on points. This quad was an accident waiting to happen. Now it was the Dealer that took the quad back and exchanged it for a 700 Raptor, Polaris refused to look at the problem and stated it was all in spec (Rubbish) since it has sat on the dealer floor for almost 2 years and no one in the ACT will touch it. Remember I rode this Quad (brand new) for 50km then told them to shove it. My partner also owned an 800 Polaris and it spent that much time at the Dealer under warranty repairs it broke her heart and we sold it before it was even out of warranty because Polaris refused to fix the problems it had and made nothing but excuses totall cost $26000 for two bits of rubbish. Jap Quads rule by a long way.

MY 06 was a weapon!!! You found that after 50km ?? Clive Baxter and I before this quad rolled off the showroom floor jacked it up went over it . A couple of 50c bolts and $3 dollar roller bearings later and I was charging the hills at Adelaide river. Some times a little TLC at pre- delivery can go a long way.

AS I say there is no perfect quad they all have issues. who can fix a Yamaha 700 FI system NOBODY

Plenty of people on this site will help you fix stuff thats too hard at the dealer.

Next time PM me and I will help you NO Problem No matter what brand.

Hi Huskygoat, no sweat mate but this all happened before I new of OZATV. You know its funny it was like they had machined every thing to accept imperial bolts but fitted metric instead so it created heaps of play everywhere. Mate this is more about the way I was treated by Polaris than anything else. They just treated me like I had AIDS. They even stated on this website they are trying to sort the problems out with me. That was a straight out lie not once did they contact me and also refused to answer my Emails. I know one thing they promised and that was to do stuff all. Like I said dont get me started about the 800 it broke my partners heart after paying $14000 for the peace of rubbish. It spent more time in for repairs than what she rode it. It went back to the Dealer 20+ times for warranty work and then Polaris wanted to try and charge us. I will challenge any Polaris representitive to dissuse this matter on the site.
