See the pic in my avitar and link to trading post

http://www.tradingpost.com.au/Automotive/Go-Karts-ATVs-Mini-Bikes/Go-Karts-Buggies-ATVs/AdNumber=WY2623182204?BackToResult=true

These funky lil quads must be ace to ride and have a race series on.

Cut costs by only allowing stock entries (plus any designated safety gear)

Imagine say racing that on a hard pack clay speedway style track with maybe a bit of coarse grit on it like the old country tennis courts.

No jumps mini whoops etc but make some really big berms on the corners so you can either drift high or low or some double corners
to drift through or straighten up down the inside.

Or maybe we race them on go-kart tracks, but cant see that as being as much fun!! Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

I placed a poll in Riding tred to see if people would be interested in an Australia/state or even just club level series.

At $2,500 easy to walk away from or if we even just get two seasons of 6 races you've probably got your monies worth!

Either way what a cool quad!!

It states in the specs that its only good for 60 klm per hour think i would rather drive the electric golf cart around if that was the max speed

Hmm didnt read that in the specs, disappointing that a 125 is only good for 60kmh.

But how fast do you want to go on a short track.

I tell ya what you get your golf cart and we'll have a crack at it!! laughing laughing

I thought it was a bit odd that the 150CC CX1.5 Scorpion comes with a 110CC motor. There must be a second smaller 40CC motor hidden away there somewhere.

Yeh why not. I'm sure Yogie has one on his bike but it's methane fuelled.

Tell ya what Grizz Ive seen a similar flattrack quad but with a headlight like a ktm instead of a duke 916.

Theyre Called a twiser by yamoto and got 250 cc. I got this one out of AMCT mag from a place called motorevo in Qld but I havent been able to get eithe of the websites involved up to pull down any pics or specs.

But they're $3k and have slightly more ground clearance about them and not having a side on view i kainda get the feel you you might be riding this like a harley which would be disappointing by comparison to the scorpion which seems to be a bum up racer.

Search on Yamoto Twister and see if you can get through the links. Still a couple of years of good racing for next to nought bu we do need some speacalist tracks and that is a bummer.

I just think it would be fun and not too "jolting" to s old fella's.

Just for grizz a bike with a lil more hair on it so it goes for him

http://www.yamoto.com.au/atv/250cc-twister-sports-atv;jsessionid=ADB72BAE6D904E2C9E72470D37A11741

Cant you see a mx shaped track, harpacked speedway type surface witha nice loose grit or inch sand topping, high berms on single and double apex corners for overtaking outside or hole-shooting the inside, some nice gentle whoops, a bridge figue 8, a table top.

6-10 bikes per race. Maybe even hire a bike per race meeting so you can have some fun if your not a full time racer or are and just dont want to own one. Stock or control mods to limit expenditure.

Once again e-mailing for more info, check bulk pricing, sponsorship for lifting brand recognition and see the bikes reliability etc.

Of course if we were going to do it in Vic we'd need to build a course but Ive also put it on the OEM if he expects to sell this kind of bike its kinda incumpent on hime to provide a facility.

Im only asking him everything for nothing at this stage so we'd stand to loose nothing.

Its not as cool looking as the scorpion but hell, like I said, if you cant have fun riding those like you stole them, you may as well stop wasting our oxygen and other resources. Evil or Very Mad Evil or Very Mad

Then just like road racing, we'd have the equivalent racing entry platform, like the 250 production class which has produced our many fine worl class riders. You name a road racer, they raced 250 production.

And weve taken some risks out of it by reducing some jumps while guys can get used to hole shots, corners and whoops. Getting racing lines right, practicing right of way etc.

My ability is no where near racing but I'd have a go on these just to get a taste, and isnt that what growing a sport is all about? Try before you buy!

Maybe think of that for QRCV too Pete.

You know didnt get a response off either of these people, n the first ad is so poorly written as to be dodgey and the second one they got no excuse, cos the do heaps of stuff and have been in that mag for 2 years now.

How do people make a living when they wont even get back to you? Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

Mate

Is awaiting mechanical inspection and approval. (Sunday)

Needs new tyres as the standard 2plys are still on, Prokiwi has had a couple of DS's and has a few spares to hook me up with as well as a tyre dealer.

Must have some nerfs, I dont wanna get my nick from being "eaten" by my quad when I miss the foot pedal, very Nasty experience I hear.

Other than that I have to do a bit of accessorising over time.

Have a look at what this guy did with one down in Tas. I love his tool /utility tubes.

http://www.tradingpost.com.au/Automotive/Go-Karts-ATVs-Mini-Bikes/Go-Karts-Buggies-ATVs/AdNumber=TP000098711?BackToResult=true

And hopefully get enough gear to hold me in one piece. laughing laughing

Yogie put the jinx on me in another thread and said it woudlnt be mine, and guess what, thats exactly how its worked out!

Apperently having permission to buy a quad and getting moeny from the financial director still has some kind of loop hole where they dont give you the cash. What the...?????

Mad Mad Mad Mad Mad Mad Mad Mad

Now I have to fight for my right to quad at home as well!
