This may be abit of a silly question but has anyone ever raced a ag quad or has there ever been a section for racing ag quads. Just curious question. _________________ Such is life |

Yes, plenty of people have raced utility quads, depends on what discipline though. QRCV ran a ag class at a grass track MX a few years ago and there was a 4x4 class at the Thumb Pump 300 earlier in the year. Big 4x4 utilitys are also a pretty common thing for the Kamfari Mud Race in the NT. _________________

I love to flog the crap out of dionky farm quads, The thought of racing a heap of them would be so funny, but i imagine it would be hard to hang on when your pi##in yourself laughing at your mate when he's thrashing poor old farmer bills faithfull old eiger, trying to get the holeshot. Two thumbs up i say. |

Surely you cant be calling a renegade a farmer/utility quad?
Can-am make that quite clear by building without racks, its a special class off-road racer. Ant smokin HHHHOTTTT _________________ www.asho.com.au for your shooting and outdoor needs

It's a big call calling a renagade a farm quad when Bullet raced a de-tuned one in Finke this year and got 7th outright in the quad class! _________________ The way to this man's heart is through his esky |

we tried to get a "utility" class accepted in last years Qld MX titles but was unsuccessful. MQ wouldnt allow it, no matter how we explained the concept. This was going to be a fun class without racks etc. The way around this is to race them in the normal classes. As long as they fit within the cc limit and have nerfs etc. Still, it would have been good to have a specific class. |

Im actually VERY sure your pic is of a 800 Renegade, the outlander is the ute version as you used the terminology which I apologise if you didnt mean AG by saying Ute.
Check the post in this section about Can-am 2009 line-up to check what a renegade and outlander are. _________________ www.asho.com.au for your shooting and outdoor needs

I think you'll find Linc's pic is an Outlander with the racks removed for racing (really who'd race an outlander with racks on it, or a 2 seater for that matter??) not that there is outwardly a massive difference between the two models other that the guards. the fact that they are pretty much the same chassis with the same engine may have something to do with this though.
I would describe a renegade as a Sports 4x4 rather than a UTV (well it does pretty much fit into its own genre) although if you put racks on it then..... _________________
