I think you have made the right move.. i originally started on an old polaris 325cc agg quad then went to a 700cc but always wanting to go faster and jump higher. My wife and i set our eyes on a big sports quad to seat 2 so we got the kfx 700 awesome quad that belongs to my wife now. still wanting to go faster i bought a Banshee and have not looked back.

you will eventually buy a sports quad, its just a matter of time. not money you got that laughing laughing

Below are pics of my machine loaded up on a weekend out and also a pic off it after i done a few bling things,

Wheels and tyres and Highlifter bash plates all Purchased through Austraco in Ballarat

lol Grizz

I knew I recognised the name from somewhere but i couldnt put a finger on it, just like high school....

Yam and the grizzley pack have shouldered the whole trail atv burden for 10 yeas almost alone, few other brands putting a sporting enough and on deck.

They're a top brand without a doubt and Ive never heard of them being anything but bullett proof and still the leading Jap manufacturer in this category.

But the Yanks have charged hard in the past 4 years with Can-am and Polaris really following single models into full line ups with an unashamedly bent on trail riding rather than trail ag.

I ask te question of Yam why they dont import the wolverine 4x4 450 but answer myself by saying we havent got legal trailrising anywhere yet Gav.

Lets change that.

(Is a soapbox slippery ground??) laughing laughing

If it came down to it on equal moey I'd possible still go yank but a cheaper Yam would make me do a double take.

Gav

congrats on your purchase.

each person has different needs so don't worry about what may suit another. each person has individual perferences just look at this thread http://www.ozatv.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6295

If you are new to quadin then I reckon a 300 is a good place to start - no point getting on a 850 twin and wrapping yourself around one of those sneaky trees that jump out at you on occasion before you get to really enjoy yourself.

If you ever do decide to go in a pony express or endro then there may be a 4x4 class or under 500cc class you can enter.

I've been riding for nearly 10 years and perfer around 500cc regardless of style. (scrambler 500cc 4x4, outlaw 525 SA do motoX, outlaw 525 IRS did finke and finished, big boss 6x6 500cc for carting kids and eskies)

The more you ride and the more you read - the more informed your future purchases will be so it's a fun learning curve.

Never lose sight of the purpose you brought it for - work or having fun laughing laughing either way - enjoy Smile

pffft your just a biased polaris owner lol

U cant have made the wrong choice. It is a quad. Wink I am 14 and only in the last 6 months I have been riding a half decent bike which is my chinese 250cc Atomik Raider. Before that I rode a 110cc chinese quad that came up to about my knee but it got me around and riding with my mates and it was a good start and now I have a better bike. And don't worry bout it being a utility. My mate who I ride with has an old Honda Big Red 300 farm bike but he can do anything that i can and it just keeps going. It jumps good and is better in the thick scrub that my sports bike and he has heaps of fun riding it and you should have the same. Just because they have racks on them doesn't mean they cant slide or get the wheels off the ground. Good Luck and have heaps of fun. Very Happy Smile

Andy

Given the sudden turn in world stocks and economies Im looking at downgrading my own first purchase significantly and have seen an second hand version of the Polaris at Colac MC;s.

Its $4,700ish from memory, which is starting to smell like my new price Im going to put on purchase (take on no debt). So maybe a pair a hustlers out there to watch out for.

Is that the new name for them the Polaris "Hustler" coz they come pre-pimped with all that plastic?? Cool The one there had a tie down rail fitted around the edge of the racks.

See what happens hey.

Gavin
