Really how often have you come across a rider whom doesn't like the quad they have? The above posts show that. To look at events and say a particular bike won won't work either cause the rider will make the difference.
Personally I ride an 08 Yamaha and I love it because that is what I am used to However I did ride my husbands Polaris 525 IRS in the Simpson Desert and it was the most comfortable ride ever, no way I would have wanted to do that on the Yamaha. I did ride the Yamaha at Thumb Pump but it has a lot of aftermarket parts so I loved it.
Back to what Petey and Holeshot has to say, I've only briefly ridden a Suzuki, I didn't find it comfortable (again I'm used to the Yamaha) but I have heard dealers (non suzuki) comment on the value/ power of these bikes. Maybe try and ride on to see what you think.
Good luck - again you won't be disappointed either way cause the fun takes over!! _________________ I'll give it a crack!

I think the Polaris 450MX, 525S and 525IRS are the best value units round.
KTM power - (dont forget Polaris designed the KTM frame for them) great quality stock parts Douglas Rims, SS braided lines, PRO steering.
Special until end of July HMF pipe, Nerfs, Heel guards, Hand guards etc. about $2000 retail for free with new quad.
Dont see any other brand offering value like this to the customer.
Luke & Arron seem to be doing well in the Tri states MX and Finke so that shows the machines are up to it. _________________ Thanks to

bang for buck = banshee
comfort + low down grunt = DS650 or KFX700 etc
handling and good power to weight ratio = LTR or YFZ or TRX or KTM or combination KTM engine Polaris everything else, and then there's can-am still in their fledgling stages with the current line up that's still to fully tap their potential, etc etc etc
the list goes on as to which quad is better suited to each and every different situation and rider requirement. i love the type of ride my banshee provides in certain conditions but i'm the first to avoid mx wherever possible and that's probably because i've only tried it on a banshee (and a kazuma falcon 110, but that's another story)
i've recently begun riding my YFZ a bit more and although i hated it to start with, i'm starting to appreciate where it is a better ride than ol' faithful
as ms450 said the best quad for you is the best quad for you and the riding you do. (shoulda been a rapper)
there's a lot to be said about setting up your ride to suit you and your riding environment too
having said all that i ride like a wombat on a skateboard so who'd really care about what i've got to say lol |

im sure wat im about to say has all been said above cos i couldnt be screwed to read it all but the LT-R is definitly good valuee for money because you are already at max race width when u buy it and cornering is wat counts..... and the KTM tho i dont know how much they retail for is good cos it comes stock with nice shocks and a dampener but in the long run dude go for the YAMAHA YFZ450 best to work on and all round beautiful beast _________________ thats wat she said |
