Looks okay... but dont forget what it isnt A 10,000 dollar quad, so dont expect japannese quality, this will be a real good learning quad, so have some fun, check EVERY NUT AND BOLT before you ride it and dont jump it.

Confused Confused Confused

Where are you going to be riding?
What sort of riding do you do?
How much mechanical knowledge do you have?
Do you ride with friends?
What do you weigh?
Have you contacted any of the other buyers to see what their opinion is?

Answer these questions & a lot of people here will give you some good advice.
There are some good Chineese quads starting to come onto the market at a cheap price.
Remember that they are still Chineese quads though, so be carefull in your choice.
If you do buy it, take note of what Yogie said.

Just be carefull what you buy and do some research,i would be a bit wary of a china quad . Have you looked at a can am ds 250 my wife has one and loves it ,cost about $6000 well worth it i think, aint a big power house but it is a fun bike to ride and seems reliable .

Also spending $11000 on a jap quad dont mean your gonna get a reliable bike , my ltr's 5 hours old and is breaking teeth in the gear box so you never know .Just do your research and cheek forums like this one for a heads up on whats hot and whats junk.Hope this helps. laughing

Wouldnt waste my time!. as the old saying goes that we read here all the time "u get what u pay 4". sure its new, shinny & all that other crap but bottom line is its a copy of the bigger brand name bikes. My 2cents worth is 2 stick with the main stream, parts will b easy 2 get & it will probably last longer that 12months, i know of a guy who bought his son an atv similar 2 the 1 your looking at. they took it out on its 1st ride & came back with a list of parts that had either failed or broke. Again "u get what u pay 4" good luck

spud94 in regards 2 this comment. bloody money makes a point that problems can exist with the bigger/better brands but think about this. im only guessing here but i reckon the warranty on the bike your looking at would probably only b a month, as far as the LTR goes, im dead sure the warranty would b longer than a month, 12 months if memory serves me correct

That is the new model of what my bike is. The have seemed to improved they swingarm and a-arms, frame but i dont think the shocks are as good and they have changed the brand motor but it is probably the same with a different name on it. They also have disks on the front instead of the drums like on mine. The plastics, heel guards nerfs ect look better soon. If you could get one for under $1300 then probably go for it. You just have to be prepared to get the welder out and weld up the little things that crack everynow and then like a mount that holds your plastics of your muffler mount. Things like that. I cracked the swingarm on mine but the new ones look a lot better and stronger so they shouldn't crack. If you end up getting one PM me and I will tell you more about what happened with mine but nothing serious has happened to it. The steering and shocks on mine are good too. I can get about 80km/h out of mine. One downside though is Atomik wont send me parts that i ordered while the bike was in waranty like the neutral light and the seat had a rip in it when it arrived. They have said that they are waiting for the parts to come in from china but i dunno. Anyway i think they are a good bike to start off on and I like them. This is mine. and this is a video. I had only had it 5 days then. I can do better now.

Dont worry bout not jumpin them they jump good. I can clear a little 5 metre table top with about a 10/15 metre run up coming out of a turn in soft sand in 3rd gear. The jump on that video is ok that was in third gear but i was still scared back then now i would do some more crazier stuff. They land good too with them shocks on them. Smile

Hi spud94, I spent a great deal of time looking at these style of quads before buying some for my family.I ended up buying a yamoto 250cc air cooled from a dealer in brisbane and a 200cc water cooled from ebay. I rode the 250 for twelve months and in that time had to replace/make swingarm bushes , chain guide/tensioner and all the shocks. I am 110kg and the frame ,motor, wheels and brakes remained untouched other than servicing regularly. The 200cc is narrow , unstable and drives like a postie bike with 4 wheels, but it works for wife and daughter. When buying a quad like these checkout the specs very closely.I have since bought a 06 raptor 700 and given the 250 to my 11yr son to ride.I have put the raptor shocks onto the stock Aarms and ended up with good travel and a width of 1310 mm and spacers on the back. With mods and repairs it probably owes me $2700 but is now a reasonable quad. It in noway compares to a jap quad and if I had my time again I would probably buy a LTZ400 or predator500 or raptor660 as a first quad .These start at about $4000 on ebay and are far superior to any chinese quad. Type in yamaha quad on ebay and search all other brand quads from there. Thanks scotty.[this is just my opinion]

The way the rear shock is connected to the swingarm. I wouldnt try anything to rough. Ask if they will through in a welder as well laughing . But mate, if MONEY is the problem, (which it normally is) and if you take it easy, and you want to get out there and have fun. JUST DO IT, DO IT Smile

That is another thing they have changed. On my bike the rear shock comes from the back of the swingarm. Between the rear sprocket and the brake disk and up to just infront of where the grab bar bolts on. They new ones come from the middle of the swingarm straight to the frame. Dunno which one is better though???

Well for me because i saved up all my money working for my grandparents in the holidays and that and bought it myself i would now that it is fixed up rate it about an 8.5 out of 10. Lots of people say that it is Chinese crap but is my bike and it does a good job. At the TP300 on our little practice track I wasn't too far behind the blasters and I was about equal with those little Pro Shark 2 stroke 125's or 100's whatever they are. On the bigger loop we did the blasters left me a bit but on the open i passed the Pro Shark and they are a proper race bike and that was before I done some adjustments too it. Anyway I think it is the best bike out but that is only caus I own it. Realisticly it is a 8.5 out of 10 like i said.

P.S. I talk too much Razz Razz

There will always be plenty of negative ideas and thoughts whenever you
talk about these so called "Chinese Crap". However what we all need to remember is that not all can afford even a secondhand jap item so therefore why not help these people to choose the best product within
there reach financially.
At the end of the day it's all about growing the numbers of people involved
in our great sport and if that means people starting on cheaper machines
then so be it. Lets just help to choose between what's good and not so good by all getting our heads together, maybe there could be some kind of rating scale put up on the forum for the most popular 5-10 bikes in each
capacity catagory. Not sure what others reckon but maybe can come up with lists of companies that are good to deal with, with good products and for safety reasons steer people away from the truly dangerous/dodgy
gear/operators out there.
Just my two cents worth, pesonally I think we need to grow our sport by
promoting family involvement and possibly these chinese machines will enable more families to test it out and then progress into better machines
as they become "addicted" like the rest of us.

Cheers Dean.

Absolutly spot on digger. And lets face it Feralkid has shown us all exactly how its got to be done, his review of these quads has be fantastic, and has already given any buyer out there a list things to do and what look out for, he certainly hasnt said its great, buy it blah blah, but told us of his problems, eg the frame needed welding on his, and the comparioson between his model and the current updated version is great and for such a young kid he needs to be congratulated for being unbiased about the quad. No doubt he'd love a jap quad one day but what a great basing this has been (still) for him. So Spud go and buy the thing, enjoy it, take some or all of the advice given here, and enjoy it, and get onto feralkid via hereand get even more detailed info about the quad. Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
