AFAIK there are no obvious external differences (the cc may be stamped on the cylinder base though)

| no cc stamped on cyl only numbers 89-7r would the cyl be taller on 525 ? |

| thanks pete 450 bore 89, 525 bore 95 my 525s has 89-7r stamped on cyl ,thought that might mean bore size , if thats so ive been ripped off cause only other diff beetween the 450mx and 525s is front shocks and tyre size |

don't know - but I know the 525 has enough to rip the lugs off.... and the straight axle has more down low than the IRS525 - I still think my SA525 is the best bike I have ever ridden even though it put me in the royal resort for 10 days......

Ive got a 525 but people keep going past me
Must be a 450
The vin number should identify what they put in
They look the same to me
