Proposed dates for Thumb Pump Qld Cross Country Race for 2009 onwards.
26th, 27th and 28th of September (Sat, Sun and Mon).
Middle weekend of Vic and Qld school holidays.
1st weekend of WA and SA school holidays.
We may be able to convince them to run the Qld MX titles on the following weekend. This should get extra numbers to both events.
Location possibly Warwick, Qld (1hr from Brisbane towards NSW).
Could be a good one to take the kid's to for a coaching school then have a week on the gold coast, then the Qld MX titles, then home.
What do you all think?

What about Qld Titles first?
Then if you break something at Thumb Pump you aren't buggered for the Titles. _________________ Mic

You have a good point there Mic, though most parts from anwhere in the country should be deliverable within 3 days to a week, bones are a different story !
Either way sounds like a good plan overall ! |

A holiday in Queensland, two days of peace while the missus has her helmet on, and a beer with Mr Beechy...sounds perfect I'm in. _________________ I'm not suffering from insanity, I'm enjoying it!!! |

Hey whatever Donkey Boy, but I will be staying at your place. I assume that everyone else can too? You can put up a hundred or so riders can't you?

Just a though why don't Queensland apply for the Nationals and have that the week before or after? We might just break 200 entries at both.

you'll need to have your arms tied in so your elbow don't poke out the side.... _________________

Maybe. It will be close. I read somewhere that they were due out in late 09.
I would like to run a UTV class. It all comes down to getting MA to cover them under the insurance, or maybe we need to look for other insurance for the event. It has been discussed. If it was to run under camms, the answer would be no. Double up on officials, permits and everything else that goes with it, plus and extra $40k plus to get a UTV Camms approved....just ask Scooter, he has just done it to an RZR for Finke. You need to change just about everything but the engine to get a Camms log book for a UTV.
