You could fly into Burnie or Devonport airport also.
Burnie is the shortest drive to the track at Smithton.
It would be about 30-45 mins drive from Burnie Airport. |

Have been on advised site for organizing club, seems to be no way of leaving message for commitee. On the site there is NO mention of an
Australian Championship ATV event and the posted Apple Isle ATV
Championship event shceduled for Oct has no enrty forms, indemnities
or supp regs as yet.
Does anyone have any official or unofficial word on what is happening, it
was announced over seven months ago that the " Apple Isle " would hold
this event. Please can someone raise any response from those organizing the event, I know these people volunteer all their time for our sport but
just something for the people from ALL OVER AUST. that are making HUGE
efforts to participate at this planned event in Oct.
Some info please, regards Dean. |

Well said Dean.
Come on Tassie organisers let us all know what's going on. Are you holding the event or not? Time is passing quickly.
Have we all paid our deposits for nothing?
Some answers would be appreciated by all. _________________ If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something. |

CCR, and Gravedigger I have just today spoken to the President of the Circular Head M/C Club Mr. Troy Smith ( great name that ) and he has assured me that things are on coarse for the Nationals and we will be in much closer contact from here on in so we can keep everyone informed about what is actually happening (and not the rantings of someone who thinks he knows ALL there is to know about Quads in Australia) Hugh. _________________ we do not stop racing because we grow old

Yeah well its a waste of our time travelling over east to race, as wa riders are the fastest anyway and dont sook over that its true and you know it you toss. |

Not sure who you are YAM but you better be bloody fast with a mouth like that on you. If you don't understand the concept of a NATIONAL TITLE (ie not WA title) then maybe you shouldn't bother making comments _________________ You Can Fix Alot Of Things In This World But...

Tasmania is the only state to apply for the 08 Nationals, if it wasnt going to be there, it wasnt going to happen at all.
Take a chill pill and book some tickets to Tasmania, all the West Aussies are getting into the "Nationals Mood" and booking stuff.
Dont judge us all by what one person's opinion is. _________________ www.waquadmx.com |

We are nearly all booked - just waiting on costings on the Ferry for a very large Ute and trailer.
Doesn't matter where its at, be it WA, Vic or Tassie, thats where we will be, no use whinging about it, the cost is always gonna be there no matter where you live. Dont kid yourself if you think this is a cheap sport its far from that.
It can only go to which ever state nominates and out of all the states Tassie nominated no ones else did apart from WA which was withdrawn should there be a State nomination over and above thiers.
We have a new trailer being built to house 10 quads, and guess what its already full for this years Nationals all WA riders. Definately dont tar us with the same brush as per previous comments. And yes we have weighed up the costs and this money can be spent elsewhere, but then we wouldn't be able to catch up with the rest of the riders from Aus as this is the socialising aspect of the sport.

Please don't speak for all WA riders Yam you boofhead. For the sport to grow, major events need to be shared nationally and made accessible to everyone, even to our penguin riding bretheren down in Tassie. If you feel it's a waste of time travelling east to race, don't go. I'm sure everybody will have a great time regardless. _________________ I'm not suffering from insanity, I'm enjoying it!!! |

Spoke with the President last night - briefly - they are having a meeting tonight so things will be posted very shortly on accommodation ect.
We are staying in Smithton, 10 minutes from the track which is located on Pump House Road just out the back of Smithton. There are a few places to stay. We googled Accomodation Smithton then hunted out the motels.
Fingers crossed we dont miss the Ferry??
See you all there |
