 |
|
| Recent discussion with our lord and saviour of gillman Dave Parker, has indicated that there will be at least 3 opportunities for Quadriders to be the supporting category for the traditional solo and sidecar disciplines under lights on saturday nights during the summer season. There may also be other meetings too depending on criteria beyond prediction at this point in time. More info as it comes to hand will be made available at monthly club meetings and via this forum. At present it appears that Quads will be included on the opening night of the season although this is yet to be confirmed, and that may possibly take place on the 4th of november 06. I know this is the weekend before the nationals in WA but we only need 10 riders to put on a show so hopefully those not nationals bound will attend. |

Hey Kev,
I really feel like I need some more practice turning left before november the 4th ?
A mate of mine, Andrew Sunderland is an ex member who will be returning to the scene on a spanking new LTR450 mainly for this circular exercise you've brought to the club.
any opportunities before november ?
any little track jumbo action ? _________________ Can-Am X Team

| so far there is little hope of getting jumbos on the junior track due to logistics and track licence issues. still negotiating getting them on the big track but my personal opinion on that is it will be very boring. (doesnt mean i'm not trying though). i believe there is a practice on the first sunday of october but most club members will probably be heading to the camp away. quads are still able to go to the track however, as there were two of them down there on sept 3rd while we were all at the renmark enduro. as there seems to be significant interest in the race meeting in november, i suggest anyone wishing to compete get their nomination to me by next wednesday's club meeting as there will be a certain number of riders only required (what that certain number is at this stage is still being negotiated). my opinion is that if i can give the gillman heirarchy a huge list of entrants nominated then that puts more pressure on them to accomodate us. ie hopefully more race meetings. if we put on a good show that attracts a paying audience, that also weighs in our favour. tell everyone you know to get down there for any meeting quads are at so we can prove the improved financial viability of running quads at speedway exceeds that of traditional solos and sidecars and we're well on the way to holding a quad speedway series under lights, maybe even a state title and then as we evolve perhaps nationals, then we take over the world. we will fight them on the beaches , we will fight them on the ........................... sorry got a bit carried away there. |

| ok here's the latest. 4/11/06 2/12/06 30/12/06 and 3/2/07 are dates that quads are scheduled to be at gillman. that's 4 rounds now not 3 as stated earlier. maximum number of riders is 15. licence requirement is senior national as these events run on an open permit. there will be no exception regarding licences. nominations for 4/11/06 are full subject to final confirmation. any of those that have nominated, that do not have senior national licences need to get one or notify me of your cancellation as soon as possible. i already have 19 riders wanting to fill 15 spots so there will be a need to rationalise the list. we may be able to utilise a reserve system and operate that on a rotational basis throughout the series. i'm still trying to get my peanut around how to do that and will advise any outcome as it arises. there may also be some opportunities to race at gillman subject to cancellation or poor nominations in other disciplines, on other dates than those mentioned. these however will be at short notice so keep your eye on this forum for updates. sms messages will also be sent out for these (subject to Dave's level of credit). feel free to contact me regarding any questions or grievances you may have and i'll do my best to address them. don't forget though, some issues such as rider numbers and licences are out of my control. |

well as you know the catholic church has it's headquarters in rome and that's in italy, and we know that the italians are as frugal with their money as the scots. are you with me so far? in the late fifteenth century all the condoms on the market in italy were made from indian rubber and consequently were destined to burst right when you least required it so the penny conscious roman catholics decided that rather than waste their money on inferior quality merchandise they simply went without. after many years of rooting away happily and pro-creating like mad they realised that the more of them that existed, the more likely they would succed in raping and pillaging the european continent in the quest to collect as much wealth as possible so the pontiff and all the cardinals would never have to have 9 - 5 jobs ever again. about halfway into their quest for riches one lowly soldier approached his commanding officer and suggested that they needed a valid excuse for all this thievery, so they decided to disguise their wicked ways by calling their actions
a quest for the holy grail.
you had to ask a dumb one hey
if you need to research any further on this topic i suggest you rent every monty python dvd you can

I hope to hell I'm in the November 4th run.
I did'nt get new tyres for nothing.
Andrew Sunderland is definately interested too.
I agree with your Jumbo concerns Kev. I cant see my little number 12 getting sideways on the big track without washing too much speed ("speed" probably isn't the most appropriate word).
Still... I'll be in a run.
They might get sick of watching us and throw us on the centre track. _________________ Can-Am X Team
