 |
|
NPWS has started their Lavis Lane car park upgrade.
Works are taking place from the 13th of May & should be completed by friday 23rd May.
Work will be carried out week days only between the hours of 7:00am & 5:00pm.
Car park access will be limited during the works.
NOTE: Tuesday 20th May the car park will be totally shut due to machinery that will be opperating.
The car park upgrade consists of a 24 space lot on top of the hill just before the existing car park that will be for cars/ utes ect.
The existing car park will have 25 car & trailer spaces & 7 normal size parking spaces.
It has ended up a bit smaller than origionally planned due to being on the boundaries of Crown lands.
Just as a side note, I would like to say that this is a great step forward for both quad & bike riders using Stockton.
It tells me that the NPWS is listening to our concerns & requests, & acting on them as they can.
They would not be putting a car park in that pretty much only caters for quad & bike riders if they had plans to take us off Stockton.
Just my opinion. _________________ If it's not upside down, you're not trying hard enough!

Good news. What kind will it be? asphalt, concrete, gravel, dirt?
It would be nice to have it all bitumen to & including the carpark. _________________ Don't close your eyes during the crash, you'll miss the best part |

The carpark upgrade is running behind schedule as the contractor is doing a few different jobs. The gravel should be completed next week and the remainder completed by end May. All ready for the June Long weekend.
As for Lavis Lane from the Metro Servo to the carpark , that's a public road. The 3 months of rain hasn't helped.
The 6mt white poles on the sand are on the RVA boundary. Where the RVA narrows near the sygna is where BORAL freehold lands extend out onto the sand dunes. Their boundary is approx 1.7km long (north - south) Their chain mesh fence is well off their property boundary. Inside the white pipe is a 200mm galv pipe screwed 3 metres into the sand.
See you on the dunes, hopefully going for a ride over the long weekend. _________________ niftynev |

Well done to all those that have worked towards such facilities to enable
us to persue our past-time.In NSW you are very fortunate to have a govt.
that will allow quads to ride on crown land, if only the Vic. govt. could "get
their heads out of their #rse's" and see the need for such facilities.
The govt. will happily collect the taxes from sales from quads but are well aware there are NO LEGAL public facilities where they can be ridden.
Anyhow guys enjoy, respect and look after such limited and wonderful
facilities.
