hi all im looking to buy a new trailer for a quad must have at least 50" clearance between wheel arches enclosed preferably new, im looking for some reccomendations for companies that make them under $15k would be a good starting point, i also had an idea to rent advertising space on my trailer for a year at a time to help pay for the trailer, do you guys recon this could work and how much should i charge for say half a side of the trailer would $3000 be fair? _________________ "IF YOU DONT BREAK IT YOUR NOT GOING HARD ENOUGH" |

Mate if your lucky you'll get a free sticker... sorry to burst your bubble but it aint gunna happen. Would be nice though. I'd rent out my fat ass for a bill board if that was the case... Grizzly, oz84, preisty, actually all of you for that matter, do NOT comment on this. _________________ 2005 KFX700

hey guys, found a pretty good trailer company that is sydney based creativetrailers.net "4 bike trailer" its a dual axle fully enclosed trailer , gas strut roof , side entry door, strong chassis rails price is only 5-6k + 2k transport to perth, does any body have one of these trailers, heard about them or able to go have a look for me and tell me how they are and how theyll go as a quad trailer. _________________ "IF YOU DONT BREAK IT YOUR NOT GOING HARD ENOUGH" |

my advice is if ya going to carry or look at fitting 2 quads in find out inside length and also width at the bull nosing ....... thats reason i went for a extra mtr in length on ours _________________ black covered in 5.7 powered oversize quad

Bought one and sold it not long after. Had plenty of troubles with it but I have seen alot of them in most pit areas. If it is dual axle they run twin slipper springs which are not load sharing and can cause quite the wobble, I had to change my pants after a 110 KPH scare on the F3 when it changed two lanes on me.
Remember you get what you pay for in most things and after I mentioned "creative trailers" to another trailer builder just trying to get a quote they wanted nothing to do with me. Should have taken the hint but I guess the price was just too tempting.
If I had to get another trailer built I would either build my own or research a hell of a lot before parting with my hard earned. Get plenty of opinions and find people who wouldn't hesitate recomending their trailer builder.
Just my 2 cents I'm pretty sure there are a few other people on here with "creative trailers" I hope they speak up and prove me wrong for your sake on saving some money |

hey hudson mine is running slipper springs and have passed cars at lets say a bit bit over the speedlimit like hmm 40kms and didnt get any sway ? either i have packed it right or maybe better fitted axle location?
............ but sounds like prices creative are overing are too good to be true as i know mine was rrp of around $10500 to $11000 _________________ black covered in 5.7 powered oversize quad

the big problem with slipper springs usually happen when the trailer is empty, and has a bit more bounce, they can jump out or tear the little bit of plate that "locks" it in. But these can let go if over loaded also, just somthing to keep in mind if going down a rough or corragated road. My self I'd gone the little extra and gotton eye-eye springs, but it comes down to personal choice.
But here's a tip for free, go and buy your self some spare U bolts, cost 10 bucks if your lucky, because if you break one, its gunna be a friday night or a sunday arvo in the back of no where and you wont get till till monday morning. I know. I now carry a full sett on my trailer. _________________ 2005 KFX700

I have torsion bar setup on a tralier that i have ,, to replace the bushes the axle has to be sent to the manafacturer at a cost of 700.00 so i would steer clear of them purely for cost .
Slipper springs do not allow for load sharing ,, eg even weight over both axles hence if load is not even you have uneven axle weights ,, which can be the fault of transfering to much weight over the rear or front of the trailer , hence upsetting the balance of the car.
As a general rule if a trailer is say 7 foot box size the axle would be situated 3 and a half inches from centre towards the rear .
hope this has been of some help _________________ 2012 Can am Outlander Xt 1000cc
