I often get the same thing, but I thought it was just that I am getting old.
I think it has sometning to do with how hard you grip the handlebars and the lack of blood flow because your fingers aren't moving.
I found to keep it at bay when riding is to wiggle the fingers regularly and when you can take hand off handlebars and give them a good shake.
Basicly keep the blood moving.

You're not the only two fellas.
I got it at TP300 when I used some different thinner grips.
Mainly the outside 3 fingers of my left hand.

And I thought I was getting old eek

Must be just scared and hanging on too hard laughing

Hi guys, this is called carple tunnel syndrome, i have it in both of my hands, and suffered from the word go at the thumb pump, it is a nerve in the pam of your hand and the thick part of the thumb muscle pushes against it causing the numbness, to the middle and index finger and thumb. I coundn't feel those three fingers for the whole weekend. i was using the noise of the motor to tell me where the throttle pistion. there is a operation that you can have to remove the muscle that pushs against the nerve.

This may sound dum but I'v used a set of BMX contour grips there fatter at your index and taper to you little finger they worked a treat, last ride I used Pro-Taper pillow grips they were ok ( have to say that cuase I sell them) but I'm going back to the BMX grips better and cheaper and no pins and needles.

Hi GYTR, mate you gripping the bars to tight, I have seen hundreds of people get pins and needles form gripping to tight. I come from a road bike background and believe me if your gripping to tight you just carnt steer the bike and then your in big trouble. The best idear is to fit a steering dampner and get thinner grips also your suspension could be causing a bit of the problem if its to hard. Remember dont be scared to loosen your grip a bit and let the dampner do a bit of the work.

That's ggod advise, but...
Most of us would still be up there hanging out of the trees if we weren't hanging on like grim death laughing
Most good advise has centred on grip pressure. I found after a lap, I probably relaxed a bit more and the sensation disapated almost completely.
So yeah, grips, bar shape, dampeners, suspension etc should all help.
Anything that helps you relax at the bars.
If you wear upwards of a size 10 glove, try OURY grips. They work good for me.

The "carple tunnel" (not sure about the spelling) is the small tube that the nerve to your hands & fingers runs inside of as it passes through your palm & wrist. It gets restricted by various positions or fluid or fat build up.
I get the sensation every day.
I will probably get the operation to release the preasure on the nerve one day. It's a fairly common procedure.
If left go too long it can cause muscle deteoration in the hand.
But don't pannic. I don't think that hanging on for your life on a quad and getting it shows any signs of it being in the advanced stages.
