OK this is whats been going on ,its has been fouling up the left hand plug ive replaced reeds, intake boots, coil and leads and swapped over carbs from my brother bike(same jets 320 main but 25 pilot) but left the same neddles in that were in mine bike went for a ride today and it foul the plug again put in and new one then went for a ride it was running good for 20mins and then it was running off and then started making a rattling sound turned it off and pulled the plugout and found bit of mental stuck in the plug so i brang it home and this is what i found is Wrist pin bearing on the left hand side has be all smashed into small bits, so what is the cause of all this its really giving me the sh.ts.
When you split the bottem end is there a short cut to just the crank for little bits of "profanity removed" soo i don t need to pull the hole thing a part
cheers Ian

P.S sorry about my english too

Sounds like you need to rebuild the whole motor.
but yes just remove the motor and undo the m10 bolts flip it over and split it open(dont forget to remove the clutch. and stator behind the flywheel)

a smashed wrist pin bearing sounds like it could be detonation? are there any signs of deto on the combustion chamber or piston crown? have you had the head milled or anything?

post some pics of the carnage

detonation is when you have too much compression or too much timing (or both) for the quality of fuel you are using.

do you have a timing plate or aftermarket ignition? have you had the head milled for higher compression or do you have an aftermarket head with smaller domes? what type of fuel are you using?

im thinking its just a freak thing that has happened though, because usually deto would destroy the piston b4 anything else. what brand of pistons are you using and how many hours on them? how many hours on the rods/crank?

if you had said the wrist pin bearing had melted, then it woulda been too lean, but its fouling plugs so it'd be rich. unless the deto is closing up the plug gap and thats why they're fouling? whats the plug gap on the fouled plug?

when you split the cases dont forget the little c shaped plate behind the clutch thats attached to both case halves.

maybe my good tip when putting your motor together use hylamar spray to joint the in take gaskets, so the dont leak or suck air,it may even idle better.

it works for me use 98 fuel, about 40 to 1 ratio , better 600ml of oil to 20lts fuel safer.

and if you pull the motor down renew the crank seals .

JMC racing has the kit cheap. 0249451562

crank and rods have about 60-70 hrs on them but they seem fine
the piston had about 15hrs sence i rebuilt the topend this year(that when it started fouling a plug after that build) im using wiseco piton kit and using 95 unleaded (because its free) with silcolene mixed 32:1 (600mls to 20 liters) the mods i have vforce reeds .k&n (lid on)boost bottle toomey t6 pipes 320main with 30 pilot jet neddle is on the 4th clip air/fuel screw is at 1 & half turns the bloke at yamaha said that it could of be the ring end cap was to big or to small. I mite just start from scratch and take my time as i did not do it my self last time my mates did but i rebuilt my brother and that thing runs sweet know(touch wood)could it be the fuel im using should i go to a hire octan fuel
cheers Ian

yeah i was thinking too much ring end gap and/or bore clearance but usually that would destroy the piston first

i think you were just unlucky
