My new bike has good take off but doesn't have a very good top speed because it is only a 4 speed. So me and Dad were thinking of changing the sprockets. At the moment it has a 15 tooth on the front and a 40 on the back. So we are thinking of putting a bigger one on the front. How much bigger would you go. Or would it be better to change the back sprocket. _________________ "If in doubt go flat out"

if you are going to change the sprockets its probly easier to change the front around just go 1 or 2 teeth bigger!

ahhh yes but goin up 1 on the front is like going down 3 on the back... so it may be too coarse an adjustment...
i would drop 1 or 2 teeth on the back and see how that goes.
bigger tyres will do same thing as changing your gearing too _________________ 2002 SE Banshee |

U think I am going to have to go down a few on the back because I had another look yesterday at it and I dont think a bigger front will fit on. It will hit the motor. My dad said about bigger tyres but sprockets will be a bit easier and cheaper at the moment caus I still don't have much money and tyres cost a fair bit. Might get them later though and find the best combo of sprockets and tyres. Anyway now all I have to do is find one that will fit my bike. _________________ "If in doubt go flat out"
