the filter thread in here is starting to make for interesting reading, so i thought id add a poll to see who runs what!

ive only ever run K&N so forgive me for the limited other options lol.

just reply in here if you run a different filter to the options i have there and ill add it.

uni filter.

I think a lot of people opt for K&N as they are less messy to clean and recharge than foam filters, no arguments there, this was certainly the case when I ran one on my banshee. I think the noticable difference on the track between a clean foam filter and a clean K&N is going to be fark all.

slightly irrelevant to quads but back when me and my mates first got our licences, a couple of em went and put uni filter pods on their cars.

after just a couple of washes the foam had deteriorated, so they got em replaced under "warranty" then they just did it again. so they pissed em off and bought K&Ns.

i have pmed yogie about adding the options to the poll.

Yeah, I'm a Fuel Customs man too.
The quality is fantastic, and really obvious when you check them out.
That is a huge thing with filters.
A crappy join somewhere from the manufacturer and you're toast.

If I can't get my hands on a Fuel Customs, I just 'lightly' oil the OEM foam.

only 26 votes...

come on people we have 964 registered users and surely everyone runs an airfilter!

i should i add "none" to the options haha

there was a guy on bansheehq.com a few weeks ago asking for jetting reccomendations for his quad and he ran it on the 1/4 mile with no filters or air box, pretty wild huh!

Your right guys, they are a great product.

The best thing about the FCI filter is that its an 8 ply filter where as the K&N is a 4 ply. This doesnt restrict the flow either, it will flow just as much if not more than any K&N or foam filter.

a local guy around my way built a kx500 for drag racing, and he made up his own "flow bench" to test all the different air filters. ill have to ask him more about it when i see him next

Wow, 8 ply!
That is heaps of layers of dust protection.
I can see why their power and flow is so high.
When I washed mine I held it up to the sun and you can almost see straight through it.
Fuel Customes Intake filters must be made out of some real rocket surgeon stuff.
