could some one tell me what Shell aviation turbine fuel (100%V/V liquid hydrocarbons) is?? is it basicly kerosine? anu info would be great thank you.

Just my 2 cents worth. Some guys used to run avgas when racing fuel was scarce, in South Africa. Once the container is opened it must be used in its entirety otherwise it absorbs water apparently. It must not be left over in your tank for long periods ie from weekend to weekend etc. I was told all the ins and outs but I cant seem to remember it all now.

kerosine grade fuel - don't think i'll put that in my tank.
most fuels are hydroscopic (draw moisture from air) some worse than others.

Turbine fuel or Jet fuel is different a lower flash point fuel like kero/diesel as opposed to avgas which is high octane high flash fuel (petrol) for regular internal combustion engine planes.
