Just a small question I went to lancelin on Saturday and had a bit of and accident and don t know what to do, This is what happen I was in the designated off-road area on the first hill check around to see if anyone was coming and then went up it and did a jump in the mean time a car came along and had park there I hit the car in the air and damage the door I’m ok but , my question is who pays for who damage because it and off-road area you enter at your own risk and therefore we both at fault or was he not supposed to be in that motorbike area .what do you think I should do and go about this and who should I go contact any info would be good .some photos are below

Cheers Ian

1st up never ever jump there without a spotter
2nd unless you can prove that he deliberatly parked there as an act of malice or neglect for your safety then it should be called an unfortunate accident and both repair your own mess
bloody lucky no one hurt or worst

I agree with the others.
To me it sounds like a 'racing incident'.
You were both in the designated area for that sort of thing and "that sort of thing happens, in that sort of area".

Bummer though.

You could have looked first, and if you'd jumped the dune a few times before... the car shouldn't have parked just over the ridge of a dune across a set of tracks.

The safest place to stop in the dunes is at the top of a dune so you can be seen from both sides.
He knows that now. Sad

No road rules in the dunes so pay for your own damage & be thankful no one was hurt. Don't think car owner has any right to get you to pay.
If either one or both of you did something different there would not be a crash.

hope ya quad doesn't cost much to fix is the frame bent?

i agree 100% - enter at your own risk.
I have had a few close calls and 1 bad accident there. Problem is people who have never riden there with bikes (2 or 4 wheel) dont think about them. At the end of the day Lancelin is an extremely dangerous area if you dont have your wits about you -- bloody good fun but!!

If i was you i would go buy a lotto ticket, this type of accident has left me in a wheelchair for life. You should both just be stoked you weren't injured or killed. You can always repair your quad/car or get new ones, once you get a spinal injury no cure. But on the positive side you can still ride...

Chees Ian

PS I ride my bike at my own risk and do not blam anyone for any accident
