I am new here and to the ATV sport.
Looking to buy first quad.
Riding on sand most of the time.
What's better and why? |

Depends on what colour you like.....
Both are great bikes, one is auto and the other manual.
Depends on what your preferences are, either way you will have a lot of fun..
I have the 700 Raptor and love it, have a mate that has a kwaka and he loves it also, _________________ Andrew |

In cars I love manual.
Thinking of driving on sand, auto would have to be better,so one plus for Kawasaki.
Yamaha is fuel injected,so plus there.
Yamaha seems more popular...... |

Hahaha dude your 1st post and your gona create a war. i think the only big diff is raptor is manual and kfx is auto, apart from that is what you feel most comfortable on for your bum will be spending all the time on it (go the raptor) _________________ Sponsors ,Cullys Yamaha,Pirtek Malaga

All said and done its going to come down to choice, both bikes are very different in many ways. The kwakka is a big heavy bike but suprisanly very flicky when on the gas. The seat on the kwakka is bigger than the raptor, so that might be a factor, try them out.
The great points going for the raptor
fuel injection
a lot of off the shelf parts, cheap as.
other colours than blue...
pick a good second hand one up usually on here.
Some great points for the kwakka
little engine vibration (Vtwin)
no chain hassels
simple maintance
D-N-R
you must run duel yoshies on them, sound great.
My reasons I bought the kwakka, love the big bore kwakka motors, have had them for years. The Auto sure gets a good rap from some, but a lot dont like them, I dont like the auto going down long steep hills, because when you back off the gas, its all free wheeling till you hit the bottom, no gearing down, but I'm used to it now.
ride them both and see what you think. _________________ 2005 KFX700

Congratulations and welcome to the site, you will have a good time here. The review in last month's dirtwheels was a great article highlighting both the for and against features of each machine, leaving the buyer to make up his mind as to which model was right for him (or her). Having seen (and heard!!! ) Yogi's beast, either choice was going to be a handful for your first quad and neither was going to disappoint. Don't forget to post up pics of your ride when you get her. _________________ I'm not suffering from insanity, I'm enjoying it!!! |

Anyone seen black raptor yet?
I am bit disapointed with dealer, telling me that I am getting black one tomorrow.
This is third time he's changed the colour and is telling me what I am getting.First two times I was OK but now it's getting bit to much.
Going to see it tomorrow and if I don't like it,I'll just cancell the order. |

its nothing personal Bigjon but Yamaha are the only ones that offer any colour than the other makers... So why not take advantage of it I say. Kwakka make a real nice orange, but not here in aus... _________________ 2005 KFX700

One of the new black ones is getting around up here. The frame is very bright in real life and the graphics and predominately black color scheme are a little boring IMO compared to some of the other Raptor colors. _________________ I'm not suffering from insanity, I'm enjoying it!!! |

Picked up my Raptor today. It actually looks very good.
Red is not bright at all. It's much darker than red on white and red SE. |

Congrats on the new quad, hope all goes well for you.
Just about to take mine in for first service, wondering how much they are going to rip me off for that... _________________ Andrew |

Who'd you take it to, a BMW dealer?
Will servicing it yourself with OEM oil & filter void warranty? _________________ Don't close your eyes during the crash, you'll miss the best part |
