Quads will also be included in the speedway after the motoX is finished . This will be under lights and is a nice fast track, only 2 or 3 km from the mx track .
The wingless sprint car guy's said they will be coming back with a few mates also. I won a ride in the two seater version and was most impressed at how quick these things are , they give rides through the night and after the racing is over , they were $150 bucks a throw but everyone got out smiling !!!

Sups for this event were available on MQ Website from middle of last week. They say you can nominate on the day.

Thanks Brooksy, Track should be nice and moist , they cancelled the weekends practice after an inch of rain last week , trying to keep the moisture in for Easter I'd say !!
Kel wanted to know if many CQ ladies are planning to come for a lap?

Nominate on the night when we get there , sign the indemnity and round we go Cool

Drags are 75 % go, I just have to make the phone call to confirm Wink

Are you interested in serenity farm this weekend for a warm up ?

keep your fluids of the track , run oil/water overflow hoses into a bottle from memory! I still don't have the tyre requirements info , I can't see knobs being a problem to the track ,
I guess leathers might be asked for , I wiil find out

Can anyone add to the list !

Been on the blower attempting to get the qaud bikes in the drags , but have hit a brick wall .
ANDRA say definitley no quadbikes Mad , the lady I spoke to said they put forward a proposal once and got knocked back, they just don't want them !
In the end she told me , " won't forget about you's, and I'll get back to you " then hung up the phone before I could give her my number Rolls eyes

On a side note , I asked the MX club if they could do a staggered start for a female class and it will be addressed at this thursday night meeting, I will post an update on this Friday !

To give me some ammo to take to the meeting , how many ladies are interested in riding if they have there own drop of the gates ?

Smile yer m8 it can be daunting even for blokes eek , kel reckons she enjoys the drag to the corner and then backs off to let the pack go Cool

If we can get a second gate drop she wouldn't essentially be racing the guy's , if anyone was to get lapped it would be in the last lap , more than likely by a exp/pro rider who normally have the decency and the skill to pass safely !

I can't make any promises at this stage , as the club has half of qld's motorbike community showing interest and are looking like they may have to run heats in the open bike class Hrm , hence time restraints Neutral

I will speak to a mate up here tomorrow, he's heavily involved in the the drag racing scene and see if I can get any help out of him.

I'm probably like most people and can't see how it is any different than running a motox bike on the strip. There was a guy who used to go to the test n tunes at Palmyra drags with I think a CR500 who used to do practically all his runs on the back wheel for the full 1/4 mile. A high 12 verticle wheelie looks pretty impressive..... Cool Razz

testing my memory now I was only a pup, but i'm fairly sure it was near enough to stock except he ran it on methanol. There was also a nitrous IT490 that used to get around Mackay that the cops would have loved to have caught. I remember him 1 night doing 4 laps past a local night club with 2 cop cars in tow eek Very Happy Very Happy

Hey Cam , click on the link above for the Supps , if you have your liscence, or you can nominate and get a one day liscence on the Friday arvo or Saturday morning at sign on and Scrut at the track!
The track is at Ironbark raceway Complex, when you come into Roma , at the top of the hill before town is the Surat Road , take the surat turnoff and you go over the railway and the track turnoff is about a km after that on your left , should be good signage!
Camping and exellent facilities at the track, Motel's will be getting hard to find this close to Easter!
Fast easy flowing track , Ideal for Quads , if I missed anything just ask !
Speedway is a good blast to if you have nothing happening Saturday night, no sheep stations to win just a bit of fun!
have you tested the new shocks yet?

Postie, not much luck from my drag racing mate. He reckons if you go directly to ANDRA unless you have backing of a large organisation you will get lots of red tape and road blocks and it won't happen in a fortnight. 1 other suggestion, the speedway club here get around a lot of red tape by running Quads as a "Spirited Demonstration" because there is no prize money, trophies or even points kept...
