Hey guys I just got home from the Crusty show at Warrnambool. IMO it was pretty lame but I just can't get into the freestyle thing I spose. Although Jon Guetta was pretty impressive backflipping on his bog stock DS450 it didn't even have the baffle out of the muffler and he did it with ease. Pitty we only seen him for about 1 min in the 3 hour show. Also they promised us the double backflip and that didn't happen

I went a couple of years ago in Sydney and loved it. It was a great show!
But, it's not something you could go see again and again (particularly if you enjoy having normal hearing).

Maybe when my son is older and their crustier I'll take him.

I went in 2003 in Sydney & would never go again. They spent more time telling us how "sick" they were than they did actually on their bikes showing us. If you think Crusty is a loud show you should see Top Fuel drags!

i went to the crusty show in Townsville a few years back

loved every second of it!
(most definatly filled my pants when jon pulled the backky out)(wish he where in it more!tho i think he was only flipping 45foot then...)

a few of my mates went and it had mixed reviews!
some say they where bored and couldnt wait to leave
others (like myself) wished it went for longer (it went for 2hours longer then planned)

very freestyle orentated so if you like freestyle you'll mostlikely like it!

if it where on twice a year i'd watch it!!!
can never get enough tho!

i enjoyed the first one i went to in 2003, it was quite cool, and i won a cell phone (i just wont say what i had to do to get it!). Also got to meet Jon and the snowmobile guy
last year wasnt so great- quite strange as they tried to make it family orientated and I dont think the crustys are made for that

Thats funny coz i know what the chick next to me had to do to win a car stereo at the adelaide one a few years ago. Big party night after with all the crusty's which i think ended pretty messy. but agreed the actual show was quite ordinary only the quad backflip and the snowmobile backflip (which he didnt land) were any good.

they video tape like a billion hours of footage to make something fairly special in them movies!
i couldnt imagine anything (in australia) as big as a movie in real-life!

although if there where some sorta setup like in thrillbillies!!

all in all i'd go watch the quad guy's for 4times more the price of the crusty shows! anyday!
in the end tho you like some things any other things you dont everybody's differnt!

I've been once (adelaide) and liked it, but I reckon the US shows from their vids look way better. Perhaps if it was o.18s only the cage girls might be able to spice things up a bit, and the tanks and destruction etc which we always miss out on. Same goes with the monster trucks though, look up Gravedigger on youtube then compare it to what we get in Australia, it's amazing they still draw a crowd hear (probably the only thing that saves them in SA is us out there on our quads at interval Smile.

I reckon Derek Guetter was more entertaining than Jon on the Quads as he's got more than one trick, not to say the backflip is not impressive, but neither got enough time out there.

I took son 1 & his mate to last Perth show - great show but boys didn't hear the "don't try this at home warning" eek

good thing they couldn't make a kicker out of pallets.

Just down the road from my place you can see into the arena where it is going to be held, I wouldn't pay to get in when we can see it for free, and I like to be involved in riding, not watching.

And that's not saying I can ride like them either, I like the wheels on the ground.... Rolls eyes
