Not trying to be a pain or anything,I just want to clear up a point.I checked the 2007 MAQ rule book on this site, and it does not cover fitting turbos for MX or any racing classes. Are they legal in the open (700cc 4 stroke) class using 2:1 ratio = a 350cc, 2 cyl engine with turbo? Some documentation or a contact would be very helpful.
regards gazman. |

OK first things first the 2007 MA Manual of Motorcycle Sport has no relevence or authority in 2008 it has been superceded in its entirety, this happens with every update or supercession
Chapter 12 of the 2008 MOMS states:
12.4.4 Superchargers and Turbochargers
12.4.4.1 Superchargers and Turbochargers may only be used as follows:
a) In drag racing or record attempt,
b) In Production Class or Improved Touring racing when fitted as factory equipment,
c) The nominal cubic capacity of an engine as calculated under 12.3.1.1, 12.3.1.2, or 12.3.1.3 that is fitted with a superchacharger or turbocharger shall be multiplied by 2 for the purpose of engine classification,
d) For Historic Road Race Period 2 machines when fitted with a supercharger as factory equipment.
Hope this clears it up for you. _________________ we do not stop racing because we grow old

You'd be able to go 350 plus your 5% tolerance.
So it might be easierst to sleeve a LTZ or TRX400 down a few mm to 367.5cc
It would be better to push the engineering down rather than up if you are going to crank up the PSI.
You'd have to get a new piston to decompress it anyway.
Hmm... now you've got me thinking.... _________________ Can-Am X Team
