anyone keen on the 6 rounds next year for QQRA. I don't think only having the 2 tracks is real fair on the riders from up north. how about 3 or 5 tracks make it a bit even on travel...

The Problem with doing this is that seen as we'd be piggy backing off of club days we'd have to join each club, and when membership at each can cost $40 it may prove too expensive for some and turn potential racers away. It would be great if we could just pay a one day race fee but I'm unsure how the clubs would be covered insurance wise.
The 2 tracks 6 rounds approach is just the start and hopefullly in time we can increase the amount of tracks and riders as time goes on. We just got to try and keep costs down.
It would be great to have the same setup as the Victorians but the QQRA simply doesn't have the funds to cater for this.[/b]

Bit of a shame guys to turn away the guys from up north,
As for keeping costs down that will mean 2 days off work for every round , costs are only down if you live in SE QLD.
If the local clubs run the events as an interclub and invite QQRC no one has to join any other clubs.
Just some thoughts,
anyway when is the next Roma club day?

It is a shame i agree , Nth Queensland has a lot to offer and should be included . Roma club day is 22 october. How many do you think will line up at Emerald on the 3/9.

It would be good if we could have another Outback tri-series again and include northern tracks but I'm unsure how that will work cause we'd have to get the bikes involved aswell to make it a proper series. Perhaps It's easier for us to try and make more numbers for thundercross, problem is some guys don't like the rough tracks, and I personally think the whole natural terrain concept is bullshit. What spectator or rider for that matter enjoys a so called Moto-x track with no jumps. Hervey Bay for example is crap, the most exciting part of that track is jumping the bore drain which would be a whole of 2 foot, but then you have the likes of Munduberra which is awesome with it's rollercoaster like layout.

yeah, some good comments here guys. good to see you hillbillies can spell and read, top stuff !

as for the 6 round series, we've thought this thru and thru. remembering we have had the quadironman series for a few years now and is only in the south east corner. Now we need to expand and seeing as there are a few riders from the toowoomba west region we thought it logical to go west. if we had a group of core riders from emerald who would put their hands up then we would consider a couple of rounds up north. but i dont see any submissions from anyone up north yet. We've asked jb to be the hillbillie representative and i think we would need someone to organise the emerald/rocky guys as well. I cant do it all. so if anyone wants to organise it let me know.

In SA we used to run our mx on the back of other clubs club days and they charged us 5 bucks to be a member for that day only, we did this at 5 tracks and they were all the same fee, i'm sure if you spoke to them they would do the same, after all they get that plus the entry fee and if you got 10 quads that should be an extra $300 or so that they wouldnt have got otherwise plus it would actually be worth going to watch as quads are way more interesting so they should get more spectators hence more canteen sales you just got to appeal to their greed (it usually works)

that sounds like a good way to go Dave, what do you reckon guys is this possible Confused As for a northern delegate i would elect 450yam if interested . Roma would be stoked to hold half the rounds for sure but I would push the envolope [Postie pun not intended] and like to see a true Qld MX championships ,NTH /STH/ WEST. Does any one else think this is possible or do we need to have a poll Smile Honestly i think there would be more noise up north if we could do even 1 round up there.

well yeah something like that and does it have to be 6 rounds to constitute a state title or to save a little bit of travel have only four rounds one each direction

If we have 4 or so rounds you could try and get them all on a long week end at the first half of the year what do you think.

4 rounds isnt enough, especially if you suck at round 1 or have bike problems the 3 rounds isnt enough to make up the points. with 6 rounds you can make it up usually. maybe 5 could pull us up.
the long weekend thing is exactly right, we pointed this out at roma. Roma would be on the long weekends so us cityslickers can get back to brissy.
