hey mic,

the 04 and 05 model trx used an average carb but the o6 uses a fcr or flat side carb from memory. all years yfz450's also use the fcr style carb and crf,yz etc etc so dont limit yourself to a trx carb. you might want
to get on ebay. i bought a 38mm carb off a yz125 for mine, so look around a bit.

also, are you sure the 450 style carb is the go? have you checked exriders.com ? let me know mate.

Thanks Jaden. The only reason im looking for a 450R carb is because that is what all the guys on exriders.com run and most of them have similar engies to me so ive got a general idea of the jets I will need. Just makes it easier to et the jetting right. And last time I used e-bay was not a great experience it took 6 months and heaps of threats to the seller to the part here.
But that 39mm FCR could be good, do you reckon 1mm biger than stock would make much of a difference?

Mic, the keihin carbs site lists a 39 FCR as a model to suit 440 kitted XR's so it will probably be a pretty easy fit up. It will give much better throttle response than the stock 400 or old 450r carb.

Yeh. Thanks for the info. The FCR carbs are a bit expensive so i dont know what im going to do. Might just leave it as is for now.

LOL yeh i know he does......... maybe.......... if i stop wasting it. I got my quad stripped down to nothing on the weekend and there are soo many cracks we have to weld and then some gusseting and replacing the rims.....the list is endless. LOL maybe ill just hit him up for a 450R instead of just the carb. lol
