get a hose and spray it on your electricial connections ,stator ,flywhell e.c.t e.c.t when it revs out there is your problem .will narrow it down for you .

i had that on a 01 model .
got wet at the beach then took off flat out . i let no one ride it after that.
then parted it out to dangerous to ride so i killed it .
i did try to solve the problem over and over.
i try all kinds of parts ,but still did it.
not sure whot it is sorry. |

moisture and your carb slides are the problem. thats why yamaha invented tors system.
You can try the following
1, refit tors
2, buy different carbs
3, polish the inside of the carb where the slide runs, with metal polish to mirror finish.
number 3 worked for me
thou i dont run standard carbs anymore

| my banshee will do the same but only on really cold days, doubt it is a similar prob tho, the only solution i have found for my prob. has been to take plenty of time to get the engine & carbs to operating temp. & i never have a problem, otherwise i can guarantee it will stick wide open. The bike has had numerous trips to the bike mechs. & they have not been able to find anything wrong, the bike only has about 30 hrs on it. |
