So who else on here has disconected the speed sensor to see what difference it makes?
I disconected mine a while back and was overjoyed with the difference it makes.
Well out riding today and noticed that the engine warning light stayed on while riding, so I done the right thing and stopped and loaded up and went home as I wasn't sure what was wrong, I checked the obvious -oil -coolent etc
When i got home i rang Yamaha and they were unwilling to tell me over the phone what code it was and said I could bring it down and they would hook it up and diagnose the problem.
I thought stuff paying them 55 an hour and went online to do some research, found out that the code 42 was speed sensor warning, Yamaha said that i had to take it down there to get the engine light reset and that would be 60 bucks, further researh found that all i have to do is plug the sensor back in and roll the bike forward with the engine running, this would cost be about 5 cents worth of fuel...
Some say to just leave the light on but i don't like the idea of not knowing something else happens..
Just goes to show that with a little bit of research and a few helpfull forum members we can save some money and learn some stuff at the same time.....

It retards the timing in 5th gear to limit the maximum speed. Tas is correct, all you need to do is plug it back in and roll forward and away it goes.

| i didnt think they would do something like thats but there is a way around it. You need a pulse modifier to alter the signal from the speed sensor, this way the bike will think your going slower than you really are. I can get them for cars but unsure if it will work on a raptor. |

Disconection the limiter makes the power better right through the rev range and gives the raptor a new snappy power feel making it easier to ride whilst racing enduro's, I don't want to go faster than the 126 kph top speed, I just want to get there quicker..

How is towing one of them slow 2 stroke things behind my already fast Yammy going to make it any faster... 
Get what you are saying but I prefer the torque of a 4 stroker..
